Embarking on my first tune-up for my boat after some challenges trying to keep it running. In another thread, I detailed my engine cutting out after warming up. I've owned the boat 10 years and have done nothing to the motor. I do not know when a tune was last done to this boat.
Below are some picts and some questions I hope I can get some comments on since there are so many great posters in this forum!
First, is there an in-line filter here that should be replaced? Also, you can see I rigged the PCV hoses to the spark arrestor since I think they are contributing to the build up of gunk on my motor. Is this OK to do?

Here are the plugs I pulled from the motor. They came out pretty easy. They are lined up 1-8. They all look consistent to me. Anything of note based on the way they look?

As you can see, I had some challenges removing the distributor cap busting a couple of the bolts. After busting the first one and not being able to move the second one, I simply cut into the bolt and cap and popped the head off. I'll see if I can get the stud out and drill the other out. Nonetheless, I'm not entirely sure how to remove the rotor. Do I just remove the three philips head screws?

I've got a picture I'll put in another post of the electrodes (?) inside the cap that I would be curious what people think.
Thanks!
