So I'm swapping powerheads on my 1988 Force 125 to make it a 150.
Upper motor mounts came out easy. Surprised!
But I notice the mounting bolts were conventional steel. The ones whose heads point down are exposed to saltwater, and pretty rusted. But they did come out, no problem.
Shouldn't they be stainless? I know it's more brittle and prone to galling, so maybe there's a reason they weren't stainless.
Or maybe the previous owner was in a hurry! He had two plain steel and three of the original stainless 1/4-20's in the trim pump, so.....
