Valentines Day - tick-tock Guys

A reminder that Valentines Day is tomorrow. Don't wait until tomorrow to buy the card or the gift, we always know when you do and it just dosen't set well. In case any of you need any last minute suggestions or ideas, I am offering my services. I would hate to see y'all moping around next week (or longer) cause you messed up one of the most important holidays of the year to us gals. DISCLAIMER: Postive results are not guaranteed. I once waited until Valentines day to get a card and present for my wife (wasn't wife back then). All that was left for cards were generic ones and like "Happy Valentine's Day to my favorite aunt", it wasn't pretty. The sparkly diamond earrings didn't even help that card. She still brings it up..."Don't wait till the last minute to get me a card"

Ladyfish, Do flowers still mean what they used to? In other words, are flowers just an easy way out for us fella's? Had a dozen red roses sent to my wife today at work. Like you said, its the thought that counts, not the $72.00 spent.

A little advice from 'ol Carpy, make sure you send your sweetie something at work, 'cause you wouldn't want her to be the only one there without a gift sitting on her desk. You outta see the women at our work comparing the flowers that they receive, sure wouldn't want to be the husband that didn't send something!

LadyFish, Would season tickets to the NY Yankees make a good Valentines Day gift?? She loves the Yankees, and usually watches every game on TV. Haven't known her long enough for an expensive gift, and I got the season tickets for free, through work.

AOL must have messed up again! # 6 I left a message on your answering machine to meet me for dinner. Where were you? # 5 I didn't know you liked jewelry. # 4 I thought Saint Valentine's Day was a Catholic holy Day. # 3 Your mailman must have been shot in a Post Office Massacre. # 2 I thought we would do something different this year. # 1 I thought it would mean I was making a commitment. Didn't want to make the same mistakes I've made in the past, so last night I took the wife with me to Godiva's. She picked out not the smallest, but certainly not the largest heart-shaped box of chocolates. Was $65, but I told her not to worry about it, "You deserve it!" Man, was it ever worth it!!

Hey Brian, I know what you mean by "worth it" Lucky me is that it is so close to our anniversary too.

Flowers and cards are a sure bet. Yanks tickets, HELL YEAH, but you should also buy her a card. A single rose is a really, really bad idea unless you are a teen. I always asked where the other 11 are. Makes a girl feel like she isn't worth 12 and that you are a big cheapskate. If you can't afford a dozen red roses, then a beautiful fresh flower bouquet from the local grocer will do with a bottle of good wine. Don't buy her chocolate if she is dieting. Don't buy her any sexy little nighty if she hasn't lost enough weight to look good in it. Take her to dinner, make reservations today or cook a nice dinner for her at home. And yes, this holiday IS just for us.

Ah, tickets... I won some box seats to a Bruins game last week. Told one bud at work I'd take him if I won. But another guy stepped in and offered face value ($160). I made the mistake of telling girlfriend the dilemna. I really want the Furuno color machine for my new Grady, and this would buy the transcucer and fairing block, but I told another guy I'd take him if he drove and bought the beer... So she starts in, "I never told you how much I'd like to go to a game" "All my brothers used to play hockey and we'd go to games and....." Been dating for a couple years, never seen her tune into game, or read sports page..... So I bought her a card last night and guess what's inside? No, not the Furuno...........
