I had the big V a few years ago. Nothing really painful about the procedure. The recovery is a bit more painful but not unbearable. Not expensive. The stress/anxiety of thinking about it before the procedure was a problem. Makes you wonder why men with a lot to loose ie paternity suites, don't get the V? Oh we didn't really won't anymore children but the birth control failed or she forgot to take the pill. There is really NO excuse when you can get the V. Like you see former basketball player MJ being involved in a paternity suite. If you are going to be a player with the ladies, then I think you would want to get the V. If you want your wife to be healthier by not taking the pill then you should get the V. Also saves a lot of money in the long run. Just be sure you don't want anymore kiddies. We men have just as much responsibility in preventing unwanted pregnancies. Check out the side effects of birth control pills

Got it last year. I'm a HUGE baby and I didn't find it to be that big a deal.

Been about four years I think. Turned out to be a piece of cake. Cold gel pack or two on the boys over the weekend and all was well.

With in one year still possible if not rechecked for lose swimmers!
3 years after no swimmers, aint happinin.

only regrett for me is after finding a wonderful new woman to end my lifes story with we won't have a child of our own to share. As I've been told the longer the time past the less likelyhood of reversal being succesful.

Yep. It's rare but possible. My urologist made the admiral and me sign something saying we wouldn't sue his britches off if I managed to knock her up. A year or two ago there was a lawsuit up in the northwest part of the state because of this, but there was a twist. The couple did conceive following the big V and it was the husband's critter. The problem was someone at the urologist's office told the him in front of his wife there was no way the baby could be his. D'oh!

The fringe bennie was telling the ole lady we had to do it a lot so I could go back and be tested. :D Can't remember how many days. I think it is based on how many times you have sex. 5 to 10 times should do it then you get tested. There is no way after that unless the doc didn't do it right and your tube grew back together. That would be very rare. Good docs fix it so that can't happen. Once your empty, how would it happen? Has made our sex life much better. No change in function

I was tested twice within the 1st 6 months. Both times came back "No Swimmers". Can't say it was fun telling the ex as how she was going to explain it to my mother! All she could say was it was one of three.

36 years ago for me. Took the worry out of being close. You don't have to worry about what your aiming at when shooting blanks!

Re: Vasectomy Anyone?

Lets keep the terminology and discussion in the medically speaking field. I feared having this done until I read about others who had it done. I also get a earful from my wife as to why it shouldn't just be her responsibility. Why she shouldn't have to "poison" her body with pills and/or spend the money. So I got up the nerve and had it done. Our society has long burden and degraded women for their part in it until recently. Not that much to it and what is $500 compared to $100,000+ for raising a kid?

25 years ago for me. Yeah, a few days of discomfort (not really bad), then home free. Glad I did it.
