Could someone explain What the hoses are for on a 1984 Volvo Penta 270 outdrive.I noticed one of the boot type hoses has a small hole on the bottom. Its the longer boot.I think it may be the exaust hose.If I'm correct the other boot is the cover for the drive linkage. There is a smaller rubber hose that I suspect may be for the cooling water supply.Am I way off?I noticed what apeared to be exaust smoke coming from near the back of the boat which is why I looked around and found the hole when I got home.Is this really bad for the engine? It seemed to run fine. Can this hose replacment be as easy as it looks?
