96 Christ Craft 25' - Volvo Penta 5.8EFI
Hello Everybody, this is my first post! I did a research over the forum looking for a similar problem but did not find the very same one.
The engine will start right with the first rev when cold. After 20 or 30 minutes of riding if I stop it for a few minutes and try to get it running again it will get 30 to 40 seconds of continuos keying to get it up and running again.
I need to be sure the batteries are good enough because those 30 seconds will drain them being a V8 and heavy to get up and running.
I changed the Low pressure fuel pump a few months ago since it died. I cheched the pressure in the system and it between specs.
The only code the computer was giving was a faulty Low Pressure Fuel Pump that I changed and never gave me a bad code again. I also changed the relay just in case.
I am guessing the fuel evaporates after stopped with the hot enviroment inside the engine compartment (but everybody should have the same problem!!!!) I tried to make the fuel pump to energize a couple of times turning the key only to the on position without turning the engine, so the pressure in the system gets back to normal but no difference.
Thanks to everybody!
