water hose to engine question

92 Mercruiser 305. The inlet hose connects to a pipe on the left lower side of the engine. Is that a one way valve? Do I need to pour antifreeze down that hose? Also, is pulling the hoses on both manifolds getting all the water out? I drained the block and pulled the tstat housing to replace the tsat and poured two gallons of antifreeze in. I rebuilt this boat from hull up and and had the out drive rebuilt so the new impeller has not been in the water. Just want to be sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks

most likely that is the power steering cooler

however if you just rebuilt everything and it has not been run (no water in the system), it is already winterized

I took it out after I bought this lake ready runs perfect boat and that's when I discovered the rotten transom after the bilge filled up. So the engine did have water in it. I didn't see any power steering cooler just an inlet hose from the outdrive.

if you have power steering, you have a power steering cooler. it is usually between the drive and t-stat housing.
