Water in oil

Where could the water be getting in the oil in the prop housing? For my 71 4hp Johnson model 4W71D.

Well, not knowing what you are working on. It could be prop shaft seals, drive shaft seals, seals on drain/vent screws, shift rod seal, solenoid cover gasket.

Take it to a dlr and have it pressure tested. Takes the guess work out of it.

The most common cause of water intrusion is failure to use new gaskets under drain/fill and vent plugs. It is so simple to eliminate that before tearing that sweet little Johnny apart.

Does iboats have a sight to show the parts number for all the seals and gaskets?
