What does the weight limit person, motor, gear all include??

One accepted way to calculate boat's person capacity for boats under 20' is to use this formula (you are 20' so you are on the border, assume that OAL = 19')

(Boat overall length in feet * Beam ) /15 = max number of 150Ib person (19*7.66)/15 = 9.7 = 9 people (150Ib average)

Of course the max is not recommended nor is practical on 20' vessel. I would say a total of 4 (yourself included) will be about it. 5 will be pushing it but if you can get her on plane, you should be fine.

Yea thanks I have seen that rule of thumb. Like you though, I feel that it is awfully optimistic.

Through much research and numerous resources, what I have gathered from this info is that a below deck (permanent) fuel tank is factored into the boat weight and not the "gear" weight. Something odd that I have noticed about my boat is it allows me 8 persons or 1200lbs. Then also 1200lbs. persons motor gear. Most boats that I have seen/been on have a higher weight number when the "gear" is included
