Hi Kat, you need to go to the bottom of the Forum page then Boat Manufacturers
Boats (250+ Manufacturers) then Starcraft Boats and ask you questions and check out the "Starcraft Rebuilds and Restorations, they're all here!"
You are on the wrong page!
* Forum: Boat Topics and Questions (not engine topics) you will get in trouble, just kidding. I just bought a
Older Starcraft Starchief and I have a 73 Starcraft Holiday,
So save "Forum, Owners Groups By Manufacturer, S, Starcraft Boats" Lots of good ideas and photos. Take Care. Jim

Your 14ft 1972 semi-V should be in the Starcraft brochure:
1972

I think you should be able to find max HP for any 14ft'r, the fine print may be tough to read, but it should be listed..

Re: What size motor

kat, i think everything on that page was a Starcraft. it's the brand name, not the model name.

they made lots of v-hulls in 14' with differing dimensions and hp limits. measure beam (max width at top edge of sides), and transom (flat thing on back) width, then start comparing it with the small utility tinnies listed to see which is closest. without knowing more, i'd guess that you'd likely be Ok with something in the 15-20hp range.

Don't be surprised when your boat's dimensions vary slightly from what's listed ^^^ Sometimes the factory was overly generous in how they measured length & beam.

It's also equally likely that at some point your boat didn't have both a title or registration (weren't required, some states still don't require both) and it was mis-labeled a 1972 once someone decided to title & register it. Might be older then 1972, probably isn't newer.....

Good luck w/ your project.....
