Re: What to resin
no pics? lol
inside corners, like where the stringer meets the hull, need to be filled in to round off the corner...called fillet-ing, i don't know why. outside corners, like over the top of the stringer, aren't easy. the stringer, or whatever, needs to have the sharp edge ground off. still, air will want to get under the mat. you have to work with it while not making a mess out of it. the mat will pretty much melt into the resin after a very short while...15 secs.
so, plan ahead. round off sharp corners, fill-in inside corners, pre-cut your cloth to account for bunching. ever see a pattern for making clothing? that kind of trimming can come in handy.
i used 3" and 4" brushes while doing my stringers. wet the area with resin, lay the mat down, slobber on some more resin, jam the brush into the resin covered mat to move the resin deeper, smooth it out. it also helped to do 1 side of the stringer instead of both sides at the same time...in like 3-4' sections, using the fact that it will start to set-up so that when you're on the other side pulling on the mat it will hold and not slide as much. timing is important too, gotta get a feel for temp/humidity and working time.
