Last night it was "Boiled ham and cabbage"= potatoes turnips celery carrots onions and ham in the sloww cooker for 5 hours on high served with butter and salt and pepper to taste.

Tonight I'm thinking Potatoe Soup. I have never made it but I always have liked it so I'm gonna give it a shot.

We usually don't do a lot of soups around here but it was -25f lastnight and theres nothing like a bowl of soup when it's cold out.

What did you have or gonna have tonight?

Last night was barbeque ribs (crock pot version) with mashed taters. Thursday nights have been pizza nights at my place for awhile, wife has art school so she grabs one on the way home.

Nope, it was still the same, no matter what.

If it couldn't be prepared and cooked in 10 minutes, then it was too long.

The ex couldn't cook, and niether can I.

Thank God for McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, deli's, and Pizza!

Without them, I would have starved to death years ago!

Oh Mellow,

I'd trade a couple dozen or so clams for a bucket of those "real" Buffalo Wings from Buffalo, NY anytime! !

So Mellow,

How real are those pies up there?

Nothing like a pie from "Little Italy", downtown, is it?

We've got the same pie as "Little Italy" out on the island too!

Do you really have a realistic pizzaria up there?

Hard to find one outside the NYC area.

Had a pie out in Seattle, a couple years back, and they put pineapple in the sauce...

Talk about being grossed out!!!

And then they tryed to tell me that pizza is suppose to have pineapple in it, so you can imagine the argument that created!

CCrew,

We don't do them "pan pizzas" here.

Just a fact, the pizza was invented in Brooklyn, NYC, not Chicago!

Chicago invented the "pan pizza", at Unos .

Re: What's for Supper...

I believe Hubby said ribs tonight. Barbequed with either his BBQ sauce or his mexican seasonings. Man, he's such a good cook and loves to do it. A man who likes to cook is so nice to be married to. I can make a mean quesadilla, but that's about it. Hee hee.

I eat great, one night a week :D

My dad is a chef. Every sunday night he will cook, but the rest of the week its my moms job.

She's an OKAY cook but eating the same four of five things over and over gets old. Shes not very open minded when it comes to makeing new things................

Re: What's for Supper...

JB's Caterpillar soup:

Smoked pork shoulder (complete), three or four quartered onions, four or five stalks sliced celery, salt and pepper to taste, about a gallon of water or enough to barely cover in a large (12 qt. usually isn't big enough) stock pot. Simmer three or four hours, until the shoulder disintegrates.

Remove all solids from the broth. Remove excess fat with a basting bulb. Add about 2lb. diced white potatoes (skin on), about 2lb sliced carrots. Simmer about 30 to 45 minutes. Add 2 lb dried peas or lentils. Simmer until all parts are tender. If peas/lentils turn to mush, no problem.

Seperate meat from shoulder remains, dice and add to the pot.

Finished product looks like someone stepped on the world's largest caterpillar, warms the body and sticks to the ribs. Tastes too good to describe in mere words. May be eaten with a fork or a spoon.

Cool and store in about a dozen 1 pint containers in the freezer. One container is a complete, quick in the nuker meal for one hungry dude.

Enjoy! :)
