I ran across this. (and bought a copy)
I am a HUGE fan of industrial disigner Brooks Stevens who worked for Evinrude, Jeep, Studebaker and many other companies in the mid 20th century. This is one of his creations for an Evinrude Golden Jubilee promotion.

This has to be the coolest Pontoon ever built!

Where is it now? Who won it? Where did they live. Was 70 HP really enough moose for such a large craft? What are the specs? Is it really 17 feet wide? What does that roof top cockpit look like up close? Where was it built? Where was it awarded? (Milwaukee?)

I can remember reading about this years ago.

I believe he was able to attach several of the base units together to make different size vessels.

His basic catamaran was 28ft long by 9ft wide, but by attaching several together could make trimarans or quadmirans, lol. That is likely what he did for the promotion.

I would be surprised if this thing is still in operation, but who knows!

If this contest did happen, I'm surprised it is so hard to find out anything about it. It is good to know at least someone remembers it.

I know. I spent almost an hour combing the net for anything more about it. I'm going to try the Museum in Milwaukee. They have an extensive collection of Stevens material.
