Re: Who made God?

Hey JB, that was indeed an eloquent post,it explained a lot of what i did'nt quite understand.

Perceptions and beliefs about these powers are the work of man. If you tell me I don't believe in God you are simply saying that I don't percieve God the way you do, and you don't percieve God in the way I do. Vice-versa.

It is the works of man that divide us.

Re: Who made God?

Gaugeguy, that was a rebuke, not a judgjement. Why are you so quick to attck little ole me and what you think my motive behind my post may be?

LadyFish,
The word "reasonable" is found only once in the bible. You know where? In a VERY interesting passage. Rom 12:1, where Paul states: "I beseech you therefore, bretheren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." The next paragragh is equally compelling, but I'll move on from here. Remember the parable about the sower, Mat 13:3-9? Well, my heart is rich soil for the sead that was sown therein. I drink the word like water. That may make me some kind of way out wacky Christian wacked out wierdo to you. But I sacrifice my body to God every morning when I wake up, and pray to Him, and then strive all day to be obedient to Him (and fall down a lot too ;) ). Lets follow that idea, because it leads to this:Acts 10:42 "and He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead." and also 2Cron 4:5 "For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."

So, if this is who I am (your servant for Jesus' sake), is wrong for me to pray for Toad? Are there truley places where it is a breach of decorum to testify Jesus when he sees us in all that we do and numbers the hairs on our head? In closing let me remind everyone of the words of Matt 10:32-33,
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in Heaven
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."

Pretty heavy huh? I pray for Toad and many others and share the Word because (ROM 10-17) "so then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

My rebuke was out of love Ladyfish, please don't take offence, none was meant. I can accomplish more as your trustworthy friend than as an oponent to anyone. Bless you, and you too Gaugeguy!

Re: Who made God?

Woops, JB, I posted my last post before your last was posted....doest that make any sence? Beside, wasn't this thread "an obvious troll" anyway? Beside, your "elequent" post looks more like "hell and damnation" preaching.....but thats you right?

Hell and damnation? Where?? No mention of either. Simple observations hardly qualify as preaching.

I understand that your beliefs compel you to harangue people with "messages of salvation".

This is not the place to do that. You are inviting uncivil responses.

Re: Who made God?

This is not a troll, its something I have pondered for a very long time. I am formally educated and considered intelligent by standards of convention; yet my mind can barely comprehend the complexities contained in a drop of pond water, let alone a universe so vast as to defy description in anything but the most relative terms.
That a single being could create all of it as a matter of, in a humanistic reference, merely willing it to be ...
I find myself feeling much like that ancient being must have felt when the mental shutters began to open. The savage fury of a cyclone, the raw power of a volcano exploding close enough to feel the heat, choke on the dust, and see the sun darken in a blackened sky.
Imagine what that must have felt like
When I say who made God, etc, its from that perspective, not a troll.
