Re: Who made God?
Toad, your points are valid and I have to say your right, in order to believe in what the Bible says it takes something other than knowledge, it takes Faith. The Bible is a very accurate accord of history, nobody can dispute this and still be ok with what the teach in our schools and universities. Most if not all that is in the Bible concerning history can be backed up by 1000's of other historical texts from other nations from that time period. Now I have a question for you if somehow, weather it be a feeling you just know to be true or by even some physical proof God's exsistance was proven to you, would you then delve deeper into your knowledge and understanding of God? Would you want to know as much as you can about it.So has man from the begining of time.
I qoute

"I have a curious mind. I question authority. I don't believe everything everyone tells me. And what's that old saying?, don't believe everything you read! "

You are right in doing this, I do it as well and have before and after I became Christian.

You say "I like to think people are much smarter than they were 1900 years ago when the testament was written. "
I say that they are but it doesnt make the Bible any less accurete.

You say" But to take the literal verbiage, word for word, and try and translate it into our 21st century knowledge based society, it just won't stand up in the long run. "
It has caused many problems by trying to translate the Bible but those who wish to find the truth will, if they dig and look for the truth.
