found the site when i was shopping for my first boat. ended up buying elsewhere, but the forums kept me coming back. asked a lot of dumb questions and got good answers most of the time. whenever my friends and i have a boat question, it ends up here somewhere. i don't really care for the ntdwb forums, but they are addictive. it seems just a few months ago there were more questions and answers in the boat and engine forums, and that the rate has died down. maybe everyone is getting smarter. still enough good info to keep me around.

I like to look at red S-10's and hear all about the neat things about it. <br /><br />I came here with a problem. It got fixed and then another. That story continued forever then I just gave up on the old motor. I now really enjoy my time here. Most of the folks here share my values and thoughts. This place, and watching The Jerry Springer Show, make me feel normal.

I can't even remember how I found the site. (momemtary brain cramp). But as I started browsing, I found a place that I could ask questions and not feel like a dope doing so and got right on answers. I started helping out in the repair forums (as much as I could) and learned a pasel by doing so. A real learning experience to say the least.<br /><br />Found the NTDWB forum and found a group of folks that you could talk to and get some good belly laughs on occasion. The one thing that I enjoy is the broad spectrum of opinions here. Admittedly, a few heated debates have ensued which you are going to get with so many opened minded folks, but still interesting reading. I don't debate but enjoy the opinions expressed here.<br /><br />All in all.....a good place to be. Hats off to the iboats crew.....

Looking for a site to help a friend. Found more advise than could handle, realised we didnt know as much as we thought. Stuck around found fellow boaters as dumb as I was/am and alot of them smarter. Excellent commentaries on many subjects and crazy people who I now call my friends.

I like reading about boats, and orher reasons to follow. Bought 1st motorboat some 3 yrs ago, a mechanics special, but I kew nothing about outboards. I learned a tremendous amount about outboards and later boats just by reading posts. I still like to read the motor posts occasionally though I am now aware of most pitfalls. I also wondered why anyone wanted to post about NTDWB, but soon found that it is the only place where I can freely discuss any contraversial topic without the PC ramifications encountered in the "real" world. We all know it's usually best not to discuss religion or politics! Although I dont interact personally too much here, I do feel a kinship with you all that post frequently here.

Hmmmm, came here intitally to learn how to fix up my long landlocked fleet of mostly defunct boats, figured hey, I can fix cars trucks and even worked on fixing a train once, but a silly azz little two cycle engine mystifies me???? <br /><br />my views on life seem to amuse people, and I am not above hamming it up a little (just a little ) cause I love to laugh, at parties a group is usually surrounding me, telling some sort of joke or amusing observation or relating some ridiculous thing that happened to me or someone I know, lol, for me life is joyful noise, silence is a prison I lived too long in<br /><br />and since I have no vent for RAGHEAD RAGE other than here, occaisionally Ill blow my stack, but usually only when properly flamed<br /><br />so Im a hothead, lol, deal with it! <br /><br />basically I love it here, this place full of strangers that I feel I know, hmmm, no, strike that, not strangers, members of a cyber sorority of sorts<br /><br />and despite the propensity of a few on here to call me Castaway, most call me Ray, and much like Cheers, its nice to go where everybody knows your name<br /><br />

I found this site looking for help when I burned up the old Johnson on this crappy little I bought for $900. I stayed because I love the people. Sloopy has calmed down ALOT since I arrived, but Ryan took his place. Chads made me care about him and I pray for him. Mikeandronda are like kin. SBN is a man to be admired. Mellow and Ply are both guys with whom I wouldn't mind being shipwrecked with. This is like my extended fam. <br /><br />Oh yeah, and Ladyfish is a real babe

i was looking for info on an old chrysler 70hp, and found this place. i read & read, learned alot, and then the Stupid Human Tricks was opened, and i got hooked. i craved the daily chuckle! i had very little desire for getting online until i found this place. <br /><br />i've learned volumes more here than i ever expected. i am thankful for all of the camradery also. i do try to help, but i know sometimes i show my ignorance. this place is great

SOS...Same old story, Was researching a motor that was on my toon before I bought it and just kept coming back. Somewhere along the line I started to to feel like I sorta knew some of the people I was talking to. Eventually comming here became just as programmed as answering the door when someone knocks. Every time I set down and have a few minutes I pop in to see what's new whats developed Etc.<br /><br />Sometimes I just observe, sometimes I refrain for various reasons, and sometimes I just open my mouth when I proabably shouldn't. But regardless what you get is me. And in the long run that's why I come here, What you get here is Real people. Sometimes good sometimes bad and sometimes ugly but if they spend enoufgh time around here they cannot hide. Who they are really shows even if they try to hide it. <br /><br />This site has become so much more than a repair site; it has become my neighbor hood bar but only better we all have a common intrest, Bunch of people setting around discussing everyday things. Since I don't go to the bar, I come here.
