Airman Shot in Chest

But the sniper that shot his wife in Wyoming is on the news all day since he did it?

Simple, it makes the military look bad. And the MSM can't stand the military in my opinion.

Simply disgusting to me!

I agree with you, but I'm not so sure the motivation is to make the military look bad. I think it might be that they don't want to make the anti-war crowd look bad. Either way it serves as another example of how public opinion is manipulated by the way the "news" is or is not presented.

Re: Why wasn't this reported daily

Let's not confuse one lone sicko with the anti-war movement. I see no apparent affiliation with any organized movement here. Just a wacko acting on his own for his own warped reasons.

"Now, imagine the scenario flipped: What if a soldier had attempted to murder a peace activist over the holidays in order to “make a statement”? The Times would be holding front-page vigil, and Katie Couric’s brow would be furrowed for a week. The yakkity yaks on The View would be clucking their tongues about the culture of violence bred by the military — and who knows what Rosie O’Donnell would be dressing her poor child in to exploit the story on her website."

This guy was no activist from anything I've seen. More likely some poor fool with voices in his head. If he were an activist, it would deserve national coverage. But one sick dude acting on his own don't even merit what he got. Anyone willing to tie this act to some vast left wing conspiracy is grabbing at straws out of pure desperation.

This Sheppard guy looks like the Jehova's Witness I ignored last week. ;)

Plainsman, you post this like it is something new? Anyone really think this is new? Status quo. Nothing new here.

Re: Why wasn't this reported daily

As Pointer said. I've been cornservative all my life, growing up in a Liberal, (one that turned much harder Left in the 1960s) Left coast city, I've always wondered why Cornservatives even exist. The editors, (WbW's favorites), allways pick and choose n' shape events fer the dim wits to cornsume. Seems like a different world to a critical thinker, (even one with only one severly challanged brain cell).

It gave us William J Clinton, (if Mr. Clinton was a Southern Republican allagations of rape n' all would have surfaced in a New York second), n' he would have never made it.

Most people don't know all 57 names on Joe McCarty's list were on Joe Stalin's payroll.

The hard Left bias has been woven in the media n' achedemia since the 1930's, n' with this most recent Left engineered defeat on the horizon they will likely rule a few more years before America wakes up to some smolderin' ruins as a direct result of the Dems caving in to the experts on homosexuality, victimhood, n' not much else and working with our enemies to do what the enemies could never do alone. There will be a time. Then American will step up. Not a pretty sight to look forward to, but the path of which I speak looks increasingly likely. JR

Geez, OMR. Switch a few words and extremist figureheads around and you'd sound just like an al-Qaedan gihadist.

A bit off subject, but I was listening to Air America over the weekend and they had a new show with vegetarian extremists. The commentator seemed to say that bombing experimental animal related vehicles was justifiable as long as nobody was in them. I'm betting that was the last one of those "Vegan" shows to hit the Air America airwaves. Sheesh, you find terrorists in all sorts of categories.

Now you wouldn't bomb my Evinrude powered boat, would you? ;)

Dead Air America is still on?!?!?
I thot they folded in spite of the cash-injection from Georage Soar-oss.
Yup... "Nothing new", Pointer -- yet again, the left defends their propaganda machine.

<< Venona and Soviet Files

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, documents from the KGB and Comintern Archives in Moscow became available to researchers and the public for the first time, corroborating the facts of McCarthy's undelying premise. In the United States, the Moynihan Secrecy Commission was empowered by statute to investigate and secure documents from the National Security Agency and the FBI which had remained classified for more than 40 years. The Secrecy Commission's Final Report found that,

But for every accusation there was a denial. ... For all who could agree there were Communists in government, there were as many who saw the Government as contriving fantastic accusations against innocent persons. A balanced history of this period is now beginning to appear; the VENONA messages will surely supply a great cache of facts to bring the matter to some closure....
The first fact is that a significant Communist conspiracy was in place in Washington, New York, and Los Angeles, but in the main those involved systematically denied their involvement.

Re: Why wasn't this reported daily

So I guess he was right about 206 as apposed to a mere 57. Sorry for the wrong numbers; I guess the ol' brain cell was thinkin' 'bout Mrs. John F Kerry fer some strange reason n' the number was only 25% of the actual total.

Point is: the MSM has a very long track record of bias and double standards for Liberal causes/ Democrats that many times help our enemies and work against Cornservatives/ Republicans or reporting facts n' truth that validate Cornservative ideas or good news during a Republican administration. Fortunately this grip on the media is changing with the internet, talk radio n' Fox news. JR

Yet another thread about the poor hapless conservative victims. Boo Hoo!
I hope their feelings don't get hurt! That would be a tragedy!

So libs,
Why wasn't the lunatic trying to make a statement carried everyday on the news the same as a National Guardsman's shooting of his wife? No nationally significant story there. Just an isolated incident. there is bias.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe it was because the anti-war protester was dead, and the National Guardsman was still on the loose(until today), and a possible threat to anyone who accosted him?

Well, I don't speak for the media, but a National Guard sniper shooting his wife is a bit unusual--ie news. And lots of people have wives and/or husbands, and the two don't always get along. Therefore, there is a general interest in the story (read:more readers of it)
The occasional lunatic trying to make some statement of some sort is not all that unusual, nor do people generally care much what that statement may be.

It's a competitive business driven more by business concerns than political agendas, and editors make choices. That is not new, I am afraid. If you really want to feel like a victim, go ahead, I suppose. It's up to you.

Are you just a loon? It has nothing to with a conservative getting their feeling hurt! It about the way the news is NOT reported. Put the bong down!

A serviceman was shot in the chest, did you miss that? I bet if he had been shot in Iraq, you'd post the numbers. What a piece of work you are. But hey, "They (You) walk among us"

Yes, a serviceman was shot by some suicidal nutjob that saved us all the trouble of dealing with him. We're all glad the serviceman survived and we all wish him a speedy and full recovery. But to lump the shooter into the category of "Peace Activist" is a stretch and an insult. How do you feel about Ruby Ridge and Waco Texas? Did Timothy McVeigh represent the activists protesting those? Did Eric Robert Rudolph represent Right to Lifers? A nutjob is a nutjob is a nutjob. Attention is what they crave and somebody has to refuse to be part of the food source. It's a story of local interest, not national interest.

But the guy used a pistol.
What does being trained as a sniper have to do with it?
NOTHING.
Liberal yellow journalism at work again.
