I have a 12' whaler clone with a 9.8 4 stroke tohatsu with manual trim and I was wondering if a transom saver will work? Most descriptions say for use with power tilt or trim.
Re: Will a transom saver work on an outboard without power trim?
I think it would be better to put one on and always wonder what would've happened if you hadn't. I have one on my 12' Livingston w/ old 15 HP Evinrude.

yes you can use it, they have a bungee type strap that goes around the lower unit, to hold it in place. they have save many lower units from curbs, and driveways, when backing.

Also make sure it attaches to the trailer. Do not buy the one that just hugs the roller on the trailer. They make one that has a bracket that you attach to the trailer and then the saver is attached with a pin. The other end as stated before will have a "v" and a bungee that goes around the motor.
