Re: Windows 7

That's a thought, but I really don't wanna spend bucks on a new OS just hoping that it'll work okay.

Ya know?

With your hardware, I'd say just buy a new used machine off craigslist or even a refurb from newegg or tigerdirect. There are oodles (and oodles) of off-lease desktops out there with plenty of web surfing power and enough power to run Win 7 without issue, all for about $100-$150. You already have a K/B, Mouse and monitor, so why spend the cash for a full system, just get a new off-lease machine and feel the new found power.

Example: 3Ghz 1GB DDR2 (extra 2GB is only $23) - $179 (Comes with XP Pro)

If you aren't playing games on it, you can pretty much buy any PC built within the last two years and be just dandy.

Nope. Re-read my post #9 above.

Well, I tried. You can't play a DVD on a record player.

The point was that you shouldn't have even tried. Duh.

DVD's and records are soooooo obsolete! All my stuff is on DVR or iPod. LOL!

But I am not going to put money into a used 7 year old system just so that maybe once a year I can watch Smallville in full screen mode instead of a small viewing area. Now that I see they've changed the air dates, I'll record it on my DVR as always. If I miss it, I'll watch it on the small screen or wait for the rerun.

No biggie. No charge.

Re: Windows 7

I've been running 7 now for about 6 months. It's a slick system & definitely worth the upgrade. In your case I would look into replacing the machine.
