Common problem with this setup. Not a whole ot you can do but I would suggest you keep the windshield closed most of the time to help keep it in line.

Re: Windsheild Problem

start looking for soft spots in the floor, sure sounds like it is spreading, or the consoles are sinking. 22 years old, likely has some rot, unless garaged all it's life.

Ayuh,.....

And We can't see them from here either......

Grab a side of the walk-thru,+ Shake it,.....
Where is it Loose,...??
Do the other side,... Where is it Loose,..??

Between both sides,..... That's where your problem is......

i kept the windsheild closed for a couple days.. the top part of the windsheild moves alot easier nwo and is better aligned ... but the bottom still has to be forced in.. if that helps you guys at all

Yeah, that does (roll eyes)
It STILL has something rotten..... stringers/floor/supports, etc.
Closing the window for a couple days isn't gonna change that.

zach I assume the windshield is closing in on one side (overlapping) and your struggling to close it. By the looks of your first Picture one side of the floor is swollen from water and the other side is ok even in the sub floor ???
I think the swollen decking is pushing that side of the floor and Bulkhead and windshield up and in.
I would think replacing the whole section with the thickness one inch or whatever it is on the dry side should let the side of the windshield back down and out to where it should be. With this part of the floor out does it close properly now? My question is do you plan to go up under the fiberglass that is in the bow in the picture with new wood, and if you do. How are you going to get that old wet rotten piece of wood decking out? You might be able to chip some of it out??? But it needs to come out as much as you can get out anyway. Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Windsheild Problem

that would have been my next question. is there some anyway possible to lift the fiberglass up enough just to take that out and get another one in??

I would just replace the one board if the rest of the floor is sturdy but you still need to get that rotten board out somehow if you can. Does the windshield close correctly now that you have the one board in the picture out ? Someone here should be able to tell you how to do get the other board out. Just be patient. If you can't then you will just have to leave it as it is.

Not for nothing, I know that I am new and so are some other people here. I have a sarcastic side to me. Being in Law Enforcement I am pretty cynical and at times can be rather snide. But here on a website thats main purpose is to be a clearinghouse of information it is discouraging to read the responses from idiots like Bomar76. Boy genius you may be (doubt it though) but I would feel confident in saying there are some areas of life where you are lacking the requisite skills to get by unscathed. Bomars answers don't amount to much more that digital bullying.

Very dissapointing on an otherwise awesome sight.

Re: Windsheild Problem

you can take a flat bar, and try to work underneath the fiberglass i the bow deck, and get out as much as you can, them replace. the problem with the windshield is the consoles are going to have to be aligned.
