I miss the good ole days when you could pick a ruger 10/22 up for $69.00 that was the first gun I ever received and I still have it to this day, makes for a great grouse gun(I hate picking out shotgun pellets!)
I've got a couple of 1911. I have a Springfield Loaded that is a 100% reliable tack driver. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a LNIB Colt. It was a bit over 20 years old. The owner bought it new, shot it a few times, cleaned it, and boxed it up.....While a 1911 is great, I'm more of a revolver guy and Colt is my brand. I've got 1 or 12.![]()
I'm looking at this one as a possible purchase after the new year.

I will be applying for my carry permit next year. I currently have a .22 rifle, .357 Magnum revolver so I want something I can easily carry and most will not know I am.
The local gun store just up the road from my home cannot keep them in stock. A big plus for me, they are made in the good ole USA. American made.
NICE
Did you check out CZ pistols at all ???
Yes they're Czeck, but nice.
very nice piece. ok why can't you get Kimber in MA?
it was a choice between the Kimber or a Springfield mil-spec. I love my Springfield XD40, .in the end I didn't like the trigger on the mil-spec so went Kimber
I like wheel guns to. have a 38 with a 2 inch barrel and a 357 with a 4. still thinking about a 44 with a 6 in next year. I do have a black powder 44. that's fun
I will say that Vermont has some of the best gun regulations. This is an open carry state if you desire to do so but, it makes people nervous to see it. Concealed carry is okay too.
The only strange regulation they have is no suppressors at all. It is a Fish and Game thing.
Most of the PD's are migrating to the 45 acp and now leaving the 40 S&W. There was a somewhat recent shooting encounter and the 40 did not live up to the expected results in the terms of stopping power.
The Springfield Loaded models have a better trigger, among a few other custom gun type items over the Mil-Specs. They are a lot of 1911 for the bucks. I bought my Black Stainless model for $740 a couple of years ago.
Yeah, I've got a .44 on my want list. I'm holding out for a polished stainless Colt Anaconda. They are far and few between, especially since Colt has been outta the DA revolver business for about a decade. I foolishly let one pass me by this summer because I didn't want to drive a couple of hours to get it.....It would have looked good beside my polished King Cobras.![]()
I love my old: Springfield WWII, .45 ACP. Basic, rugged and a piece of history.
Thanks Dad! We miss you!
I live 40mi's from the Remington Arms Factory. Their guns are highly sought after. But a Remington GI issue.. Heck even Singer sewing machine company made arms in WW2
