Would these kids talk to or treat their own grandmother like this... terrible.

Karen Huff Klein, a bus monitor for the Greece School District in Greece, N.Y., is receiving an outpouring of support after a ten-minute video of her enduring vicious bullying while watching over students on a bus ride home was uploaded to YouTube

I often wonder what kind of parents raise kids that are like that... That's just awful :(

Horrible, but not surprising given the bubble wrapped, helmet wearing can't do anything wrong brats that seem to be the norm now a days.

This utterly disgraceful and somewhat not surprising. I think these students should be held back a year as they are obviously not mature enough to continue on to the next grade. Also these students should not be allowed to ride the bus next year and their parents should be required to drive the kids school and then report to with them to the principles office. The parents should have to pay the consequences for their failure to teach their kids basic morales. I have a friend that teaches math in central NY and had a discussion with a parent during which the paent actually said that the school was responsible for teaching her kid morales.

Left to their own instincts, children can be unspeakably cruel. Only when consequences are immediate and scaled to the degree of the cruelty do they discover kindness is a far better choice. Those kids need to be publicly humiliated and to publicly beg Karen for forgiveness.

It's hard to respond without entering the realm of forbidden topics. A pox on them all!

My kids know they would be in for a good one if they didn't do all they could to stop something like this.

But then again I have been told I am mean to my kids for exspecting them to do thing like give there all at whatever they do.

They probably learned it watching one of the many reality TV shows that somehow pass for entertainment these days.

I think a punishment like that would be the only thing to truly have meaning enough to last long term. Hopefull the parents see that video and follow thru.

Very Disturbing.

Made CBS nationwide news this morning.

I believe (agree with JB) that public apology and humiliation is needed. I also think every student involved should be banned from any bus riding for the next year or two. Possibly if their parents had to bear the burden of being responsible for the transportation, it will drive the message right into the homes. I tend to blame the parents too.

HOLY COW I just saw the news and the community banded together to get that nice lady a vacation. The goal was to raise $5000 and so far they have raised $123,000 which is incredible! http://www.indiegogo.com/loveforkarenhklein

The lady (Karen) would like to see the kids grounded all summer.

amazing! i find that vid very disturbing on all levels.
as a single dad, if i'd have heard my kid disrespecting anyone like that. the consequences would have been severe. not violent consequences either, that's part of the root of the problem too imho.
this vid is just proof of why we as people are gonna get a rude awakening in the form of cleansing of the planet. the parents of these children are teaching kids to be like this. it's gonna come to be part of our downfall too.

peace, love, respect, compassion for others is the proper way.

while i'm not particularly religious, one comment always comes to my mind when i see crap like that. do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. it's really pretty simple....

fwiw, my kid was starting to get out of hand when he was a teen. my answer was. my child had nothing. i took it all away from him, his room was bare except for a bed, dresser and desk to study on. he even lost his door (privacy). he went no where and no friends were allowed over. that went on for six months. a tough six months, but well worth it. my son came around in the end.

those kids could come around too with the right people teaching them. but obviously, no one is trying to set them straight.

I tend to blame the parents too.
i don't tend to blame them, i tend to put it all on the parents... they're (the parents) the teachers from square one (birth).

Spent several years on a school board. 99% of kids in trouble at our school (bad enough to come before the board) had non-supportive parents behind him/her. Often times their parents didn't even show up for an expulsion hearing.

It is amazing how cruel people can be, add to that the mind of child and the mob mantality makes things worst. To bad these events easily overshadow the very compasionite acts, which can be humankind's greatest.

All I can say is WOW!!!

These little a******s are the fruit of the society of politcally correct, befriend your children, TV and video games will raise em, time out in a room full of toys, if it feels good do it.

This rotten fruit will be dispensed among society soon. God have mercy on us all.

Hopefully at least some of the parents of these little creeps are embarrassed, angered, and will have a serious re-evaluation of their approach to raising their kids. Some regretfully may watch this video, believe Jr did nothing wrong, and continue to treat there kids as they would a friend, or colleague. Basically like a little adult.

Punishment? Suspension for a LOOOONNG time from school goes with out saying. Community service, and possibly some kind of enrollment in a Jr boot camp would do them good. Maybe also some kind of scared strait thing where the little angels can be brought to a prison for a "pep-talk" and attitude adjustment from the right inmates.

Here is the irony.....just about every modern parent is sure their kids would NEVER do that. Then again modern parenting, such as it is, and the immense social pressure around it has also frowned upon 'spanking' or any physical discipline being perceived as..(get this)....'beating your kids'. LOL.
Tough video to sit through tho'.

Bad parents make bad kids - someone ought to smack their parents. Most people shouldn't have children; the least educated, and poorest have the most  Hopefully someone can show these kids later in life, and they will sufer some ignominy!

Welcome to Rochester. I Grew up in the school district that these kids are from and let me tell you that there behavior does not surprise me one bit. I know it makes me sound like a cliche' but children today seem to have less respect for adults than when I was that age 20 years ago.

I can remember my English class tormenting our teacher Mr. Lynne (at Greece Olympia High) in a similar fashion. We did not however directly mock him or belittle him. We just did things like opening the window, throwing things, switching seats, fart noises constantly every time he would turn his back for the entire year. At the time I thought it was the most horrible behavior I had ever seen. I didn't really do anything to poor Mr. Lynne but this story brings back memories and I really feel pretty bad that I never did anything to help the poor guy. I can remember that he was so frustrated that he got mad at me for addressing him as "Sir". He thought the way I said it was condescending when in reality I was raised to address adults that way. I couldn't imagine the hell that he went through.

This bus monitor is getting well deserved attention but I'm afraid that this problem is much more common than you would think.

All I can say is if one of my children had been involved in this I would have made the dad who shot his daughters computer look like Father of the Year...

Unbelievable...
