What's the matter with ya'll?" A bus monitor protects the kids from outside predators and tomfoolery that might hurt themselves. Given basic, well behaved kids. Snakes and predators in the midst demand wardens. I'll bet some reconnoitering is underway. Personalities are developed in the first six years and I see nothing but trouble and heartache coming from those involved.

I agree those kids have been bad for some time now. I bet they could not care less if their parents were forced to drive them to school.

Hopefully, hundreds of thousands of parents will see this video and realize they need to talk with their kid before they end up on the news. Hopefully, a lot of kids will see this and decide on their own what is acceptable behavior.

But unfortunately, these kids actions are a reflection of our society. You may be able to fix these kids, but it will do nothing to fix our society.

I would ask all of you to make sure your friends are aware of this story. Don't assume they are. I talk with customers in our salon a lot about the things I see on Fox News. You would not believe how many people go through life unaware about what is happening outside their daily work, or golf, or American Idol world.

Sea ya...

Reprehensible!

When my son was young elementary age, he was acting up on the bus and got a "referral" (notice of disciplline) from the bus driver. My wife and I made him go on the bus the next day and apologize, written and verbal, then get back off and she drove him to school and back each day for a week (our idea, not the school's). He had to sit in the back seat, and she wouldn't talk to him during the ride. Not fun for any of us.

If those kids had to apologize and got kicked off the bus for a year, you can bet that would get their parents' attention, having to find another way to get them to school for a year.

That behavior is just disgusting.

When i was a kid I was being harassed and pushed by another student on the bus and when the Administration was told about it nothing happened. So when I told my father about the situation he told me to turn around and hit him the next time he pushed me. So the next time he pushed me i turned around and knocked him out with one punch. Then at that point the administration decided to try to expel me but thanks to my dad that didn't last. So my question is where was the school administration during all this as there are 3 different videos of three different occasions.

Templeton, I went through a similar situation with my other young son several years ago. A kid was harrassing him and my son exhausted all the many options we came up with, and they didn't work. Finally, partially in frustration and after no help from the school, I started telling him to hit the kid if he bothered him. Well, it came to pass and the school didn't like it too much, but didn't have a leg to stand on since it had been reported previously and it did not stop.

Is it something about upstate NY? I don't know, but probably not.

The problem of kids not behaving on school buses started when they first had school buses. Principals want to ignore the problems because if they dont it may make them look "ineffective" I cant figure out what the monitor was suppose to be doing other than just sitting there. Was the bus transporting "special" kids (the short bus) I know those buses have aids or monitors . If she was the monitor she had the authority to tell the children NO TALKING allowed and that would be final. Kids that talk then would face not being able to ride. PERIOD. I feel for the lady but she needs to be replaced with someone who will demand respect. Of course the pay will be very low and that is part of the problem. A friend who was a bus mechanic was assaulted by a kid while he was trying to repair the bus. After the kid sucker kicked him in the head he got up and then slammed the kid over 3 seats. He said he was trying to break his back but lucky for the kid he didnt.

Update for those who weren't watching....

Total donation for Karen is $703,873. In my best Forest Gump text, she don't have to ride the bus no more. :D

A couple of recent news articles on it;
http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/ca...re-travel-after-700-k-windfall-163380386.html
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/48272545/ns/us_news-life/

I hope she enjoys her retirement!
The fundraising site will take 4% of it, and 3% goes to credit card processing fee's. Which supposedly leaves her with over 650K.
My only question is if the gov't will want a piece too. Is this considered tax free charity? Or is it considered winnings, like at a casino or on a game/reality show of some kind, where you need to pay taxes? This question is not meant to start political based responses (just the facts), so please keep em to your self. ;)
