Did anyone see the clip on the woman who took a pressure washer from a car wash to her little girl? Disgusting, sickining, and hope that woman gets the same treatment. I wonder what the heck she was thinking?..........SS

she turned herself in and charged with child abuse. she was saying, i'm not going to hit you, just wet you with cold water. apparently the child had and accident while in the car.

Good old fashioned "dunking stool" would be proper punishment for the Mom.

What gets me is that evidently it didnt hurt the kid but people act like it did just because of what they saw on camera. You see kids gettin sprayed with the garder hose in the summer and no one complains that this is hurting children, I say the kid most likely needed some physical punishment and it was the parents right (as long as it didnt hurt the kid which it didnt)what would people say if the mother would have slaped the brat several times?

I agree to an extent. My father once sprayed off a chuck of his calf with a hot, high pressure washer. Hopefully the mom knew this was not going to hurt her in the same way. People need to be careful with those things, they can be dangerous. But since it didn't harm the kid, let it be. Know a days kids can send you to jail for taking care of them.

Sadly, these people get paid by the child. Mo' children = more $$.

I think the problems were how young the child was (even a garden hose would be child abuse to a newborn, but to a 10 year old it's no big deal), and how cold it was (water in winter? That's fast hypothermia).

Sadly, these people get paid by the child. Mo' children = more $$.

Oh how I couldn't agree more. Instead of welfare giving out more to parents with more kids... how big a problem would this be if instead of welfare, the state simply took the kids, with the understanding that the parents could get them back once they were back on their feet financially. Now there's an idea I could really get behind.

A typical garden hose has a water pressure, with a nozzle attached, of about 40 psi. Many "spray and wash" type self service auto wash facilities have systems that are mechanically pressurized to about 1,200 psi. I suspect that the one this woman used was no where near that pressure, however, because she probably would have hurt the child if it had been.

The problem here is that first, spraying a kid down with a tool intended to wash dirt, road tar, grease, etc. off of a car is completely out of line. If you watch the video, you can tell that the mom has completely lost her cool. Secondly, this mom had no way of knowing how strong the spray from the nozzle was. Ask a hydraulic mechanic why you never pass your hand through a fine mist of hydraulic fluid escaping from a leak in a pressurized system. The answer is simple - because, depending on the psi involved, you can do anything from lay your hand open like you slipped with a very sharp knife, to losing several fingers.

I don't care if this child was being a brat or not, there is no excuse for this behavior on the part of the parent. Those of us who are or have been parents, we understand how easy it is for a child to drive you nuts and "get your pressure up." That said, most of us also know how to take a big breath and back off until we can apply punishment and teaching in an appropriate fashion ... and, yes, that may include a properly restrained spanking.

It is my sincere hope that the DSS folks require this mother to attend some parenting classes and put her on notice that she will be watched in the future.

As a Chief Petty Officier I must agree with my Senior Chief Petty Officier Merrill. His answer is best.

LOL ... sorry, but when it comes to kids, I get a little bit passionate about their well being. Maybe its where I live but I just see so many "parents" that have absolutely no business raising kids - its really scary to think what these children are brought up in. We just had a case last week of an infant who was beaten, burned and drugged by a baby sitter - you may have seen the story because it made national news. I don't know any of the people involved but, somehow, when it happens close to you, there is an especially emotional feeling that grabs your heart. Unfortunately, the little girl died a couple of days ago.

I would have to kill the babysitter, his or her entire family, and all of his or her friends if that happened to my son.

Of course, that's precisely why we don't use babysitters, well, except one time I used one that I do really trust, and I would still trust her, but she's the only babysitter I would ever trust with my son (besides family members of course).

It's really too bad that our justice system will probably not even give that sitter from hell a life without parole sentance, much less the death penalty, and even if he or she did get the death penalty, it would be a humane death... not at all like the one he or she deserves.

I don't think we want the government raising our children. Even for a short while. But, I agree that the government should not be encouraging people to have more children unless you can care for them. And, that includes financially.

Decades ago- My dad took my old 74 Chevelle through the car wash one day he borrowed it (I was away at college-left the car at dad's).
That car had like, maybe three shreds of door and window seals left....74 had the frameless windows....rubber was all sun rotted and gone....

The way he told the story was hilarious....Apparently it was like some some sort of cruel torture chamber ......water hitting him from all angles... hot... cold... soap...then wax blasting in his eyes... he was trying to hide under the dashboard
he was honking the horn trying to get them to shut it off... but he thinks they interpreted the honking to mean it wasn't cleaning well enough so they gave him extra time...

:D lol
