Floors and other work done looks great!
I’ve seen some pretty nice cabinet refacing jobs that have been done instead of all new.

Yes, I'd probably do re-facing of the cabinets and drawers as well as a new countertop. . . when the time comes.

My Dad built (had built) this house in 1992 ish. Kitchen and baths are all "builder's grade" kind of stuff. He didn't really go for the fancy stuff.

The kitchen make-over is done. A few minor things remain, but it is back in business.
. There used to be a double oven/range combo with the second oven above the range (not made anymore). So I went with the double oven (under the stove top) and added the range hood. There was never venting to the outside, so I added the duct work. The range hood called for 8" round duct, which was a little challenging to install.

.
The double ovens (of today) do not have drawer space below the oven ( for baking tins), So, I took out a defunct trash compactor and replaced it with a new cabinet to re-capture space for pans, etc.

.
There was not much of a backsplash around the counter tops (more like a back stop). I added a full backsplash with marble 'subway' tile.

.
We also have a 'kitchenette' . . . aka "Beer Kitchen". I did the flooring in there too and the Admiral re-painted the refrigerator so the beer would stay colder.

Now back to boat preparations.

Counter top still need to go but if you want to ease the eyesore paint the 1982 style golden oak trim everywhere. Floor, door, cabinets and the orange little rounded shelf. The door wood might look good in a black, adding a negative space look or a hand painted look to match the backsplash? Match the cabinet hardware to that odd single base cabinet you have to the rest of your cabinets even tho they have the pulls built in. If you decide to get rid of that shelf maybe square off the counter top below it.

That backslash will never go out of style. The oldest house I've owned was built in St Louis in 1886, have worked on many old ones and am a HGTV junkie but the thing I do and I try to steer my customers to is if I was cool 100 years ago, it will always be cool. Small trends, like green countertops, will come and go but subway tile, marble, etc will always be cool.

Worst thing for me to hears is something is 'on trend right now' both because it is proven to get dated and my ex wife was always having me do that crap....

How 'bout that pink counter top in the beer kitchen? I'm sure that will come back in style some day :ROFLMAO: .

As such, in my closet I still have all my old wide ties ans well as the skinny ties.

Crap, missed the pink....

Low use, sand to scuff, paint and seal.

For the ties I had over 200 only kept 10 or so however proud to say I NEVER had a sock tie.

Hope you have better luck with the stove/oven than we had. We have the same one. Get an oven thermometer because it will be off. We do love the upper oven for most of the meals

Joe, you assume it holds calibration. Ours is over temp one use, and may be under temp the next. We usually set the oven and adjust on the fly for each use

After my wife started a fire in our oven (molded cake overflowed) our oven isn’t holding the correct temp … one time it will be 50 degrees cooler than setting. You adjust setting 50 degrees and it will be 85 degrees hot. Ugh!

If gas take bottom plate out and see if any jets are clogged. Also ir temp gun with door closed and oven preheated , look for spikes around the door indicating bad seal.
