Re-thinking my idea it may not work for the front end of a boat but to give you a better idea of what I was trying to describe, see attached pics of my setup. it works well for the back of my boat... if I am going fishing I can set it up as a pedestal...

OK, so I ordered a new teleflex steering kit with new helm and cable as well as the Splash well mount and Clevis kit. Got everything for about $200 online and installed this weekend. Here's what it looks like, works great!!!!!
I still need to put the boot on the end...

ok, sorry...apparently I didn't look very hard when I took the photos :facepalm:... It looks like there is a tube that is supposed to be connected to it. it runs under the intake and I cannot feel where it goes short of taking my motor...

not sure if you still need help identifying your motor but the tag with your model is located on the transom mount. See attached pics, hope this helps!

Bond-O and Willyclay, thanks for the info... I agree moving the current mounting block starboard may help with getting the motor in the tilt-lock position and I thought about it however it seems that I would then need to drill 4 new holes into the transom and I am...
