Flushing grease on axle with zerk

With the Dexter type, pumping grease in with a hand operated unit cannot introduce enough pressure to pop the rear seal. If grease comes out there then that seal had failed long ago. I opted to get the install tool when I got the hub kits for my trailer. Your dust caps will thank you.

Sea Ray 185 Sport - Bow Speaker Placement?

For what this may be worth, my current boat has the bow speakers below the seats facing each other, factory install. They are accessible in the underseat storage, and have a plastic housing over them there.

Sea Ray 185 Sport - Bow Speaker Placement?

I looked at one of those boats last year, seem to remember it had 4 speakers and the ones in the bow were about where Briangcc mentioned for their 190. I had deleted all my pics, but saw this on youtube for a 2006 model which was what I was looking at, this is what I think I (mostly) remember :)

    Sea worthy bow rider

I know you want the thing to have the beam follow on up to the bow, and the vee hull sweep out to keep spray down, here is an example. This is a cuddy but the manufacturer had the same shape for a bow rider. The right side of the pic shows best what I am trying to describe. Almost like a...

How many cars and trucks have you had over the years?

Old Ironmaker Thanks, I think. Can't hurt my MoPar feelings anyways. My '77 was Sunfire Russet Metallic with White Landau style half vinyl roof with the coach lights. I corrupted my little brother with that one, he used to borrow it and bounce the front wheels in front of the High School almost...

    transom leak

This is the engine bellhousing from the rear, showing the shipping tabs at the bottom, I was thinking that maybe some inboards may use them for mounting but that is just a feeling...:

    Bimini Top Hardware

The mounts can be offset, even hinged, I believe you will find the the mounting is where your needed offset will be addressed. Lots of options. Here is just on example, it mounts to a rounded windshield frame rail, and is offset and hinges...

Trailer lights only work when headlights off

On my truck with the flat4, somehow the cover had come off and it was getting pummeled I guess, ended up not working any more. I cleaned the contacts but it was a no go. I have the tow package so I use one of these round to flat adapters when I hookup to a flat4...

    Trailer Issue... What to expect??

Fed "looks like you get double positions to fine tune your adjustment" Exactly! Each tang is exact size needed for one notch in the castle nut. You can be more precise than with a cotterpin. For more clarity, here is a pic of a spindle end with the D shape threaded area, not my rig...:

    Trailer Issue... What to expect??

No need for cross drilling or pinning, the spindle with D shaped threaded area design is fine as is. Whoever did the work before me did not execute properly. They put the tang washer on before the thrust washer, and the tangs are not long enough to reach the spindle nut. Install order should...

Help With Lumber Capacities for Engine Hoist Gantry

Gantry construction went well. Used double 2x10s for the beam, with double 2x6 uprights each side, single 2x6s for footing on each leg, legs are 8' tall on the nose. Added 2x6s angled beam gussets bolted to legs and toe-nailed to beam for easy removal of legs. Smaller 2x4's for upright to...

    Mercruiser rear engine mount problems

Changed out engine coupler, putting engine back and the rear bolts don't seem to want to start to thread into the transom mount. I had the exhaust boots lined up, and dropped it on down slowly and got them to plop on. Front mounts were still not down on the stringer, so went down a little...

Help With Lumber Capacities for Engine Hoist Gantry

All good ideas, and some have been contemplated, but alas, not feasible in my situation. I am oppressed with an HOA and that complicates the logistics some. Leaving the boat sticking out of the garage or in the driveway for more than a few hours can cause a fine-quake. That DIY garage would...

Help With Lumber Capacities for Engine Hoist Gantry

Building a gantry to use for a hanging a chain hoist that will be used to pull my boat engine. I tried some online calculators but most go into too much engineering details needed and I can't seem to concentrate long enough to glean useful information. Thought maybe some here could help me...

Mercruiser Engine Coupler Failure -- How long do they last question

I guess my main question is, do they (engine couplers) just wear out and spin the rubber part after a while? Or just some of them, like the one I have :grumpy: Mine spun while out on the lake last weekend cruising at near top RPM's, just starting into the 3rd hour of running that day, really...

    Ski rope anchor

I put one of those on my old 22 footer Cuddy. Pretty slick the way it works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3UFyU6raFg The stern on my boat had about a 6 inch wide coaming with good access underneath for the install.

    Bowrider Recommendations

"So then the Bryant has carpet glued down to fiberglass floor?" Can only talk about mine, so I guess so, looks like that to me. About the actual floor, the brochure says "Hand laminated for extra strength, Bryant's floor is made of high-density composite core material. It's one piece. So...
