    cooking

I've done Naan in a cast skillet and cooked inverted over a stove burner. Works pretty damn well. Done tiki masala a lot. Usually lamb.

    4.3 vortec Mercruiser..lots of questions

You can also rent a universal cooling system tester from any auto parts store. Block the hoses and jam it in the thermostat housing or circulating pump hose and plug the other side. That's how I did mine.

    The End

I've had the 4 winns up on ice pulling it out before in NJ. That's how you know you got your moneys worth out of the season. Local summer starts the day after labor day anyway. About a quarter of the checkbook captains out as there are May-August.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

So the boat is mostly rigged. I've been down at the fire academy so I haven't really done much today or tomorrow or Thursday. But I'm slated to take the maiden voyage Friday hopefully. I'm getting excited. I want to check the fuel tank for leaks once full but honestly... I don't think it's needed.

SEI preload and a stern jack

I knew a few guys running them. Some hulls picked up a couple MPH but most had no real change. They sure look cool though.

2006 Monterey Boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser TKS Engine S/N 0w354897 Mysterious Loss of Power

You could do it with the ignition on, you would have to jump the oil pressure switch in order to power the fuel pump that way, or just supply 12v directly to the fuel pump. Whatever is easier for you. I keep a jumper on hand to bypass the switch incase my oil pressure switch fails. My thought...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Wow this thread was a ride. I think all this really highlights is the need to have more than 1 boat. If I could afford 1 more I would.

2006 Monterey Boat with a 4.3L Mercruiser TKS Engine S/N 0w354897 Mysterious Loss of Power

Possible yes, how likely? Depends. Looking over post 1, you said the shop already replaced the fuel pump. It would seem awful odd to have 2 fail in the same manner in a very short time period, no? Or in this case, never solve the issue. If you want to test the venting theory... remove the fuel...

2013 - 2016 V8 Mustang vs Camaro? Same prices, I love them both

Yeah but they do really try to push that muscle car as a sports car... which it isn't even close to being. And they have for the last 15 years or so now. Call it a pony car. But yes, aside from the mustang II, which they'd have been better off not making at all and the mach E... which is...

    Stuck Transom Wood

I used a harbor freight 58125 for grinding out the transom. It was a nice compromise between quick wood removal and not slicing my hand off if it kicked back.... The notched wood and prybar worked okay for some of it but due to my transom design only about 1/3 of the transom could be reached...

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

The only problem I have with imgur is after a couple years, the links always seem to break or die. Good short term but long term is as useless as photobucket. Eventually it'll get fixed.

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

So I'm reaching the "I'm being to anal about things" stage. I built a removable bracket for the bilge pumps, cleaned up a lot of the original electrical system and wiring and installed the fuel system. My vent hose is about a foot short which sucks. I got really anal on the tank bonding so...

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

Most of the carpet went in yesterday. I am hoping today that... well, it's done. The cabin interior is a winter project. That is storage most of the time anyway. I am swinging to nights this weekend so I have some extra time to work on it.

2013 - 2016 V8 Mustang vs Camaro? Same prices, I love them both

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'm a small block/GM guy myself as they just fit damn near everywhere. But stock for stock the quad cam is just better. When you get into modding then it doesn't really matter so much the engine but rather how deep your pockets go. Both platforms make a lot of power on...

    Mercruiser 3.0

Yeah. The one on mine was mounted to the shift linkage bracket. 2 yellow wires and two red wires. 96158T is the PN I think. I had power up to the starter from the battery (always hot) and was losing it on the yellow. Simple check with the test light confirmed... Sounded damn near identical to...

    Mercruiser 3.0

The slave solenoid on my 3.0l used to drive me crazy and just click. They seemed to like to fail every few years. Double check that as well as all connections first.

2013 - 2016 V8 Mustang vs Camaro? Same prices, I love them both

From memory, the outward visibility in the mustang is better. Otherwise it depends which engine type you like better. The 5.0 puts down higher power a little longer and further up in the RPM range than the 6.2.... They are both pretty even honestly. The mustang is a hair quicker as the engine is...

    exhaust bellow off again

I've almost always run the tube. Not running exhaust bellows is the marine equivalent of cutting the muffler off your car. It doesn't hurt a thing but may get louder. The tube is a compromise between the two as some exhaust is still directed out the leg but it's so freaking easy to install. The...
