    lol... yeah the thought had entered my mind after typing the last reply. I think I will sit tight until a better flowing set of manifolds go on the boat. I don't want to put a bunch of work into these, only to toss them on the scrap pile eventually.

    Thanks! And yeah... I dont think there is an easy way to do it with the existing manifolds. In addition... I have 6" riser blocks under the risers also... so that's a whole 'nuther can of worms. In good time, I will likely upgrade to a newer Mercruiser manifold/riser set or a set of Stainless...

    Yeah the crappy instructions were probably my biggest complaint. Nothing I couldn't get past... but would certainly cause problems for someone not as comfortable under the hatch. This was a half kit and the only thing available. I would love to somehow get antifreeze into the exhaust manifolds...

    Water in gearbox

    I just did propshaft seals and O-rings in my DPS-A. It wasnt too horribly bad of a job but I did need to make bearing and seal drivers on the lathe... so that might be an issue for some.

    Ordered this kit from Hardin Marine last Fall and had to wait for my garage to be finished before tackling the project. Finally took care of it this past weekend. The kit was relatively simple to install, but due to my engine/hull combo... needed some extra fab work to make it fit/function...

    Just a brief update related to this post... I did locate and buy a GXi ECM. It plugs in to my harness and will run the engine but shuts it down after 30 seconds or so. Not sure if it is an issue with the ECM or if it's a compatibility issue with my hull/harness.

    One difference I can confirm is the camshaft. The Gi and GXi have different part numbers. Larry Hofer at Raylar specifically said to look for the 420hp ECM because it will work with his 520hp heads/cam package. I am not expecting "more power" from the ECM swap... I am trying to prepare for...
