    Glad it was a help, This is from the original "Operation & Maintenance Manual" that came with my father-in-laws boat back in '86, so this is a hard copy. The manual states under lubricants.... From Authorized Dealer: Quicksilver Multipurpose Lubricant or 2-4-C Lubricant. Obtain Locally...

    The concrete block on top of the trailer behind the spare tire, was that on the trailer prior too? or, was that just added to help get the tongue down? If it was there prior to the move, is it still in the same position or has it slid back towards the boat?

    Nice to know...now...tell that to the batteries that were fully charged and less then 6-months old, I guess they couldn't read....:). Happened to me twice, in different years...learned the real world lesson, just will try not to let it happen again to myself, and sharing my lesson with others.

    I have lost a couple good deep cycle batteries leaving them in cold storage over the winter. I would recommend either hooking them up once a month or so to a charger, or bring them in and store them where it dosen't get below freezing.

    I know this is late, but to ground the sparkplug, I made a "jumper" cable using alligator clips, attached one clip to the spark plug base, the other to a good ground on the outboard.
