My bravo 3 started to delay going into forward from neutral today. Reverse is fine, but when it’s shifted into forward on occasion there’s a half second delay before it starts to go. Any ideas?
Had the drive pulled last winter and the gear lube changed. Put 7 hours on the boat over the last 2 days, and the fluid dropped from full to add, basically 4ish ounces. I don’t see a film in the water or anything in the bilge, how much is normal after a drive pull/lube swap?
I double cover as well when it sits outside. I have a bow and cockpit cover, but those don’t cover the top cap. So when it does have to sit outside at the campgrounds I throw both on.
Currently have a deep cycle and a starter battery wired to a off/1/2/both switch. Where do I need to connect the terminals from the charger to ensure each battery is charged independently?
pics for reference.
My gauge reads half way down the the drive is in the trailer position and the trim sender is adjusted all the way to one side. Is there a way to get more adjustment out of the sender?
How far down is acceptable? When loading and unloading the boat I usually have the drive 1/4-1/2 way down on the trim gauge. It’s never all the way up.
I have a bravo 3 with the open exhaust bellow, or tube, and was wondering if there’s an issues with idling into shallow water areas when the drive up? I know on the older drives idling with the engine up was a no no since the exhaust bellow would be pinched shut.
Trim gauge worked at the end of last year. However after having the drive pulled to check the alignment and having it pulled again due to a gear lube leak the gauge reads half way down when the drive is in the up position. When I lower the drive the gauge bottoms out and shows that the drive...
Also, will low voltage cause this service soon code? The boat has old batteries that are going to be replaced tomorrow. They show 12.3 on the digital boat meter.
Just pulled the new to me 2015 350 mag out of storage and installed a new Dist cap and rotor bug. I noticed when I started the boat it had a service soon message, any way to check what it was? The boat starts, idles and runs great on the muffs. Much smoother that when I ran it a couple weeks ago...
That’s weird because thousands of dealerships do it around the nation along with owners in their drive, and I’m going to guess the failure rate is less than 1 percent.
according to most boating sites, it seems that the only true way to ensure there is no water in the engine is to completely...
Are you able to pull the boat out of the water? It might be easier for you you to do the old....run it till it’s warm and then switch over to antifreeze and let it circulate through the block method.
This is what I was thinking in my head. This setup would allow me to keep the factory on/off switch and basically wire a float that would activate if the water level rose without me there. But I can still activate the pump manually, correct?
although having a 3 way switch would be nice, I...
We are planning a number of trips to the lake this year where the boat will be kept in a slip overnight and I would like to make sure that it doesn’t sink for some reason so I’m going to install a shoreline float switch. I currently have a dual battery setup with the 1/2/both switch, but I...
How far is the drive? Are you goin to use the wd hitch for the boat as well? I ask those questions, but I would probably hook it up to the vehicle and see how much it squatted. Then I would tow it at 55 to my current place.
