How many of you utilize oil analysis to monitor engine health?

I decided when I bought my boat new that I would keep as complete a record of its use and history as possible, both for my own benefit and that of a potential buyer should I ever sell it. I have a binder of all the original paperwork such as the build sheet, every receipt for things bought for...

Post your best conversation-starter picture(s) here!

Subject matter can be anything; lets see what interesting photo's you've taken of whatever. Here's mine - I was in Iraq in 2004-2005, during which time the Iraqi's held their first democratic elections since who-knows-how-long, before Saddam seized power forever ago. My company was in central...

    1000 Islands Boaters - Potter's Beach

For those of you who boat on the Upper St. Lawrence river, have you ever stopped at Potter's Beach on the Northwest end of Grindstone Island? Its one of the only natural beaches in the islands, is owned by a land trust that allows it's recreational use, and I've heard it can get pretty...

Why does my gas look like this and is it ok?

Re: Why does my gas look like this and is it ok? Honestly, Stabil is a Golden Eagle product... The masters of getting people to buy 5 different bottles that all do the same thing (or, do nothing). And the different variations are probably made about the same as the different kinds of Duff beer...

91 Bayliner 2655 Ciera Sunbridge bow access

Re: 91 Bayliner 2655 Ciera Sunbridge bow access My boat came with a step mounted under the helm that swings out to allow you to step up to the foredeck: Seems like something similar would work for you.

    Canvas hatch covers

I'm wanting to have a black canvas hatch cover made for the round hatch on my boat's foredeck: I was thinking black sunbrella fabric because it would perfectly match the canvas top. But I'm not sure if that would be rough on the hatch "glass" (whatever its made of). Is there a better material...

Its here! My 2012 Stingray 195CX

First, let me apologize for these terrible cell phone pictures... In my haste to get it to my garage, I forgot to take any pictures of it outside  So these will have to do for now. But after this upcoming weekend, when we splash it, I'll have many more (and better). With that said...

    Abyss technology... a resolution

Ordered a switch for my Seablaze 3 underwater lights from Abyss. I liked their switch design, so I paid what I felt was a premium for it, as opposed to just using a standard carling switch or the like. This is what it was supposed to look like: This is what I got: Standard carling switch...

    Outfitting a new boat...

I ordered my new boat in February, and its supposed to be delivered in a few weeks.. While I've been waiting, I've been buying items to outfit it, since I threw in most of my existing stuff when I sold my old boat. Plus, I'm a little OCD and wanted all stuff that would match the new boat and be...

    Starcraft Aurora Vs Scarlett

Re: Starcraft Aurora Vs Scarlett Wow. Starcraft deck boat vs. random star of gone with the wind boat with absolutely no additional information included except that the "scarlett" includes an atari joystick and might be a better deal.

Help get my boat running true!

Re: Help get my boat running true! Sorry for back to back posts, but I paused the video and grabbed a screen shot at the point where it looked like the bow was at its highest point.. Seems reasonable to me.

How many boats (if any) actually increased in value?

Re: How many boats (if any) actually increased in value? Not sure what this '85 Century ran for new, but asking price is $23500 on it now. http://watertown.craigslist.org/boa/2896066256.html A beautiful boat, regardless of price.

Smart Tabs on a Stingray transom (picture)

Re: Smart Tabs on a Stingray transom (picture) So I emailed Nauticus, and they sent me two pictures of Smart Tabs installations (both SX and ST series) on Stingray 195's. Awesome! I didn't think they could be mounted so far inboard, but looks like I had nothing to be concerned about:

Smart Tabs on a Stingray transom (picture)

So, I have a Stingray 195CX on order. Although I haven't even taken possession of it yet, research has convinced me that a set of smart tabs will be a good first add-on. I know the SX series are not recommended on curved transoms, like on the Stingrays, so I will go with the stainless version...
