    The wire goes to the starboard side gimbal ring trim sender. Look for the 4 black wires coming inside the boat from the top of the transom assembly. Two go to trim limit and the other two are go the sender. The black wires connect to other wires with bullet connectors

    NO insects or spring birds this year.

    For the last month a Blue bird picks on our bedroom door starting around 5:30AM. The bird house is close by and there is a nest but have not seen eggs or the female. I'm thinking the female was killed somehow. We usually get to 2 sets of Blues every year

    From the key the wire has a splice and one lead goes to the ALT and the other goes to the engine to MPI connector (item b lower right corner)

    The purple wire comes from the key switch, there is no diode You could run another wire from the + side of the coil over to it

    Welcome When the trim sender first started it uses a Brown/White wire, and still does today

    Your first time it would not start and giving it more throttle it started. Giving it more throttle does not allow it to start this time?

    Your problem is the inside surface of the transom is not flat Remove plate and use a steel straight edge to find the problem areas

    The manual number listed above is the install manual, and I also have it. Page 4D-21 shows the 14 pin motor connector and other connectors like the 10 gauge connector for analog gauges. 16 pin on 4D-18

    Looks like you need manual 8M0099748 The helm 16 pin harness is for DTS and 14 pin is for mechanical The motor uses a 14 pin harness is different. The communications between the helm and motor is done via CAN buss

    Since it just started doing this check the relay as Scott mentioned, and could be the key switch. Check if power is supplied to yell/red wire on key when turned to start at the key and relay

    I would say no, The transom has a layer of fiberglass on both sides of the wood core. Taking a pic and scratching the inside surface of the glass is not telling you anything. Drill

    IMO no If you replace everything with new you might save 1/2 inch of play

    Welcome That's pretty much normal. The play comes from the helm gear to cable play and the rest is the cable end on the yoke
