    It appears to be something below the manifold air temp sensor. Saying it has 3 small screws means it's not the fuel rail damper. Have a pic just a tad bit further away to get an idea what is connected to it?

    The motor is not burning all the fuel. Carb needs adjusted or rebuilt again, plugs not firing correctly, low compression. White smoke and head leaking, check the oil level. Might have water going in the block. The ticking is most likely a lifter, needs adjusted or collapsed

    No, the switch is on the shift plate which is on top the motor. It's where the shift cables are connected

    With motor OFF and Key ON, use a voltmeter and measure the TPS to see if it goes from around 0.1V to 4.3 or so volts. Will see this when throttle is moved from idle to WOT in throttle only mode
