No compression with rocker arms torqued

Are you following the proper procedure for adjusting the rocker arms to 0-lash? Are the pushrods all the same length? IIRC, for rocker arms it is not about torque, it is about zero-lash

    Check those wheel bearings . . .

I've been doing a bit of checking on my tri-axle trailer the past few days, as I'll probably be using it to pull the boat out of the water in the next few weeks. I've felt that the surge brakes were not really working in previous uses of the trailer. Yesterday, I hit the calipers with a little...

8.1 GXI-J Cranks but No Start w/ Diacom Logs

Oopps . . . o_O Yes, go ahead and run a compression test if you want, but it sounds like the headbolt snapped . . . Maybe from a hydro-lock? Looks like you will be having some re-build or perhaps a new engine. This discovery may explain the ECT gauge funkiness.

8.1 GXI-J Cranks but No Start w/ Diacom Logs

I took a look at the 2 Diacom recordings . . . First there is not any info on the Crank & cam sensors other than the fault codes. What I did notice is that the ECT readings do not go up until the engine has been running for about 8 minutes. This seems like a long time for the cooling water...

    Need Advice on Towing Performance

Agree on the propeller ideas, probably go down a notch in the pitch and maybe go 4 blade. Just be careful with light load that you don't over rev the engine. As for the future, your 4 cylinder boat might be short-lived if you have a growing family, have more friends on-board, etc.

Showing the Boston Whaler 13 some TLC . . .

New struts for the trailer rollers and a new keel roller installed. Just in time to take the Whaler out of the water for the season. :ROFLMAO: . . Oh well . . . maybe next year everything will still be working.

    Boat info appreciated

It probably is TBS00074B808 . . . . Not TB5. The info that I posted above comes up on the HINDecoder website.

    Wiring Problem on Tilt trailer

I would check the voltage you are seeing both at the '+' wires and the ground with the lights on. See what voltage you are getting with no lights on. There may be a voltage drop somewhere, if the lights are dim.

    Boat info appreciated

I found some other info . . . Tallahatchie Boats LLC was owned by Richard Wright and was located at PO Box 423 in Charleston state of MS. This Boat maker is not owned by a parent company. Tallahatchie Boats LLC started making boats as of 8/10/2007 and went out of business on 9/2/2009. So, not...

    F-150 Transmission Issues (I think? . . . No, I thought )

Here is a picture of the turbo charger and the wastegate lever/pivot shown at the base.

Boat construction question for tank removal

Sure looks like that tank would have come out if you lifted one side first and raised it in a tilted fashion. still got the flange piece?

8.1 GXI-J Cranks but No Start w/ Diacom Logs

I believe that the crankshaft sensor is mission critical. As I recall . . . on of my vehicles had a bad crankshaft sensor and it would frequently not start. Had to get it towed to the local repair shop.

    F-150 Transmission Issues (I think? . . . No, I thought )

Yes, my truck has 207K miles. . . Just hoping to get some more out of it. I mostly use it for towing the boat, but it does get the call of duty for other stuff. I've only put about 1,500 miles on it in the past 2 years.

8.1 GXI-J Cranks but No Start w/ Diacom Logs

As for the coolant temperature . . . when you are running the engine at idle and the engine is fully warmed, the t-stat may be fairly far open because the coolant flow is slow. An increase of the throttle will immediately cause a drop in the ECT as cooler coolant rushes in . . . as it does the...

    F-150 Transmission Issues (I think? . . . No, I thought )

Fingers crossed 🤞, but it is fixed. . . :) I hooked up my pancake compressor, set it to 20 (ish) psi and exercised the wastegate actuators. The right (passenger) side of the engine was fine. The wastegate moved and retracted as it should with pressure & relief. The left (driver) side, the...

Question(s) about replacing the foam/floor in my deep-v

Post up some pictures if you can. Aluminum boats and foam flotation are a different animal than fiberglass boats and foam flotation. If you've had wet foam in contact with the aluminum hull, it would be best to inspect for corrosion/pits/etc.

    F-150 Transmission Issues (I think? . . . No, I thought )

To recap . . . I bought the truck November of 2021 and drove it from MA to CT and back to pick up a (big) trailer. I don't remember it having the flutter then. I pulled the (big) boat out of the water in November and the truck sat over the winter while I was replacing the brakes. Then in...
