    Do I need a trailer?

Depends on the weight of the boat. I hulled a 12' Montgomery Ward Sea King aluminum boat with a Johnson 5 hp around in the back of a pickup with a 8' bed for years. No problem getting the #120 hull in and out of the truck by myself.

    Humminbird issues

The computer is failing to initiate/boot. Make sure all software updates are done. Could be waiting for a response from a peripheral, communicate link, map chip, etc. Unplug all peripherals (transducer, link, gps module, etc.) and try again. If that doesn’t work you’ll need to have it...

Wild ass guess not knowing the acceptable range parameters of said sensors…..the voltage on your accelerator position sensors are 0.024 volt apart. The throttle position sensors are almost 2.0 volts apart

Merc 377 MAG DTS AXIUS electrical issue

The only way to get 8.5 volts from a 12.5 source is by resistance or excess current draw. Current flows from positive to ground. A bad connection/wire (increased resistance) can be on the supply or ground side of the circuit. To troubleshoot this properly, you need to dig into the schematics...

    M40C Tachometer install weird readings

Scratching my head as well….. Makes no sense unless he’s picking up some kind of induction “fly back” off the coil. I use a similar unit to adjust carbs on 2 cylinder, both 2 and 4 stroke, motors w/o issues.

    M40C Tachometer install weird readings

Looking though the manual, the unit is rated up to 16,000 rpm at 1 pulse per revolution which is 266.6 Hz If your getting 4 pulses per rev as it sounds, your exceeding the 266.6 Hz read rate of the unit at 4,000 rpm, thus the error noted at higher rpm

Deck to Hull Seal needs replacing

Guessing the actual seal is under the rib rail. Looks like someone took a short cut and applied RTV to the underside of the rail instead of removing the rib rail and doing it properly.

Voltage between batteries and aluminum hull

For future reference, you could have quickly eliminated the electrical harness as the source of the problem. Remove the ground cable from battery then check for continuity between the cable and the hull. No continuity, no ground leak.

    Going straight at low speed?

I vary between #230-238 depending on if I'm slacking on my diet or not. It’s not the weight. The hull pretty much steers itself. All have to do is stand over the center line of the boat and shift my weight from one leg to the other to maintain course. Anything “skiing” behind the boat is...

Voltage between batteries and aluminum hull

You need to find the ground path…. Disconnect the “boat” ground cable from the battery and test again. If you still have continuity, the motor is grounded to the hull. If this is the case, it’s not ideal but whatever you do don’t use the hull as a grounding point. All circuit grounds must be...

    Going straight at low speed?

Deadrise and weight distribution plays a huge role on how a boat tracks as well. I have continuously variable deadrise hull. I literately can stand at the stern and maintain course all day long by simply shifting my weight relative to the keel, akin to the "Chesapeake Waltz"

Rubberized or Epoxy undercarriage roll on for salt water trailer?

My galvanized trailer made it 22 years in SW before the bottom of a side rail (wishbone) rusted through. Not a big deal structurally since the load is carried by the side walls, but good enough to convince Mrs. Dingbat that a new aluminum trailer was needed for safety reasons.
