2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

The port engine does not seem to mind the voltage difference . . . so maybe 1.0 volts is OK and 1.3 is not.

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

This might be what is confusing the VesselView . . . Starboard engine 'sees' the battery voltage as 1.3 volts lower than the system voltage. On the port engine it is 1.0 volts. Maybe 1.3 volts difference crosses a threshold.

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Here are the screen shots of the port engine. . . . . . Same thing, slightly different. You would think it would show the battery voltage the same or higher than the 12 volt 'system' voltage.

    I see that now . . . I'll check the Port engine . . .

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Here is the Screen shot of the engine data, connecting directly to the engine . . . . . Here are the fault codes that showed up. . . Using the helm connector and the 94029 + 94032 I got more data and no fault codes. . . The fault history showed some issues from the past, but no current...

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

Update: Diacom Data . . . I brought my computer out to the boat this AM. there seems to be 2 places to connect the cable: 1) at the engine . . . using adapter 94029 (OBD-M) . and 2) at the Helm Station using 94029 + 94032 adapters. . . Naturally, I tried both. Connecting to the engine...

    1994 MerCruiser 7.4L / Bravo 3 26' Envision

Yes, my recollection is that the Gen 6 were preferred over the Gen 5, the roller cam being one of the reasons.

2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

I got the new trim sender and will connect it today. Before I do that I wanted to see if I could figure out the electronics within by probing the 3 wired with my ohm meter. . The results were not conclusive, and it appears as though there may be some diodes in the circuitry as opposed to a...

    1994 MerCruiser 7.4L / Bravo 3 26' Envision

Envision boats are a performance boat, but fairly spartan as compared to a Fountain or a Formula. Probably most similar to a Baja, which are pretty basic. I'm not sure on the construction, but check the structure for signs of rot or other issues. The engines are the GM 454 Gen 5. As noted...

New to me Colbalt, Overheating only while pulling tube or ski

You will probably spend at least $600 in irrelevant parts or mechanic's timeinstead of buying the code scanner. The new CAT engines have lots of sensors and they all seem to play games. I'm currently going through that with my Mercruiser. Just spent $450 upgrading my computer diagnostic...

    Poor man’s boat - 1988 sea Ray weekender 230

    1) If you can't find anything online, they may not exist. Boat manuals to the extent that they exist are somewhat brief and don't often cover the details of the boat, just some general stuff. like don't bump into other boats :ROFLMAO: There is a SeaRay owners group somewhere online that may...

    Ideal tongue weight?

We have been through this before in a thread from a few years ago. Just ask @harringtondav  The center of gravity is probably not 6' from the rear (axle location), else you would have zero tongue weight. Based on the figures you posted, the CG is 8.77" forward of the axle. In order to...

    serial number search

The MaxRules.com site could be another place to check. Could it be possible that the 'A' in the serial number is actual a number, just hard to read? It looks like the 18HP models were from 1980 - 85. Could the engine actually be a different HP?

A ghost is stealing my anchors...

As stated the snap hook is very easy for ghosts (or other circumstances) to release. Use a shackle instead, it is much harder for ghosts to unfasten, particularly if they are not wearing their tool belt.

    Sterndrive

Welcome to iBoats . . . As for your question about the outdrive not going on . . . Does the gimbal bearing look properly seated? If it was difficult to install, it may not be correct. The gimbal bearing may not be in all the way, or the drive shaft is not actually going into the coupler on...

    trailer wants

Assuming that you have a single 5,200# axle . . . You could go with two 3,000# axles and get a bit more capacity without being overkill. Surge brakes, if you currently don't have any brakes.

    Ideal tongue weight?

The dry weight of the Rinker 212 is listed as about 3200 lbs, which sounds about right. So you are probably 4,000 lbs with the trailer (assuming 800 lb trailer). My calculations get you needing to move the total C.G. (center of gravity) forward about 5", which would mean you need to move the...
