    Spring replacement?

Any trailer supply store should be able to help you out. Number of leaves depends in load weight.

Best years for 70-75hp Johnson/Evinrude outboards

I owned a 1979 model and it was awesome. Great motor, pulled skiers and knee boards. Never an issue other than replacing the CDI box.

    Good spray on weed killers.

Weather can make it work or not work....it needs to rain within 24 hrs after applying or it slows the action considerably ! If it rains to soon it will stop it from working. It needs at least 8 hrs before raining and preferably 12-16 hrs to get into the plant leaf before rain. The mixing...

    Fuel Tank Capacity

Probably wouldn't hurt to pump it out and clean it while your in there. Most built-in tanks have a tag with specs including capacities. If you can't read yours, pump it out, clean it good, then refill with good fresh fuel. This will also give you a chance to check/ clean the pickup. That is...

Spark plugs for a Merc outboard

After checking with few various parts supply houses including Quicksilver themselves, it appears the Champion plugs are the " replacement" plugs for the NGK BUHW-2 and the Quicksilver 97282Q, spark plugs. Tried cross referencing a couple other makes, but everything comes back to Champion unless...

Spark plugs for a Merc outboard

They might....back in my younger days, we often used Champion plugs as they were cheaper and readily available. We always carried extras because they often fouled out. When using NGK or AC Delco, we could run for a month or more before fouling a plug. Just the opposite for the OMC motors...

Spark plugs for a Merc outboard

Way beyond pricey.....25-30 bucks each and they are just old stock. Up until recently I have had no issue getting the Quicksilver 97182Q plugs which are the same as the. BUHW-2, even made by NGK for Quicksilver. Part stores are advertising the Quicksilver plugs, even showing pics of them, but...

How to know what propeller my boat came with

Before buying any prop....be sure your engine is running at peak performance, or you will be searched by for another prop soon. Often folks make prop changes, then realize they need a tuneup....then their prop needs can change. Best to be sure engine is running at peak perfirmance before...

Spark plugs for a Merc outboard

That was back when Champion made top quality spark plugs. Sometime in the 80's their quality went downhill, especially in their plugs for two stroke engines. Most of my experience was in smaller under 90 up motors and mainly under 10 hp. When I worked at a mom and pop marine repair store back...

    40ELPTO oil tank

There is a metal washer attached to the float that comes off ( unglued), when that washer stays on bottom it triggers the alarm. There are some fixes on YouTube videos about carefully getting it out and reglueing it back on. Mine was disconnected years ago. I make a habit of filling the oil...

    Lesson learned

The damn spell checker or whatever the setup is called that keeps changing my spelling is causing most of my spelling issues. Have not been able to figure out how to turn it off. Whenever I spell Mecury, it changes it to Mercy, and getting tired of having to go back in and change it back...
