    Pitch perfect

yep...got it...some props won't work on some motors because the prop hub diameter does not match up to the gear case diameter.....regardless of prop diameter, gearing, or pitch. A small matter but semi costly if not recognized. Comment was snarky....I felt. Just trying to help...

    Pitch perfect

hey...you don't want info, then don't ask. you responded with gear ratio and PROP diameter and pitch which was NOT what I was talking about. guess what, the only thing that matters is what rpm is @WOT. You pick prop blade #, prop diameter and pitch based on that....if you're smart. It doesn't...

    Pitch perfect

yep, I meant that the diameter of the prop hub, not the prop itself, has to be a match for the diameter of the gear case. If it isn't, then you'll get exhaust blow by which causes extreme ventilation....that's why there's an unused prop on my shelf. Lesson learned.

    Pitch perfect

Just a fyi. I learned , the expensive way, years ago that mercury CT motors have a bigger gear case than "regular" merc motors. That's why I have a TP 4-14x13 on my shelf. Do Suzuki's work like that? just double check.

    Grill on Pontoon

yep...there's different layouts, and I don't know yours. I have no rear deck space available. Mine works for me.

How much Prop should i try?

+1 on what are the current running #'s and engine specs @WOT. That's the baseline starting point, not what someone hopes, thinks, or guesses. There is a propping sticky on here.

Towing a 22 foot Islander that was changed from I/O to outboard on bracket.

me using common sense says not good. compensating for tongue weight doesn't solve the condition at the rear of the boat. I'd want to adjust my tongue weight the proper way, by balancing my boat. Balancing my boat gets me in the right direction. Can the axle/s be moved. Then I use a transom...

    Grill on Pontoon

I have an '06, Lowe, 24' pontoon. I've got 2 side gates. I have the rail mounts and the same type gas grill you have mounts on the right gate. A couple of things to consider why I did that over a pedestal mount. It extends over the side, so no hot grease issues on my carpet, or worries about...

    Pitch perfect

ventilation is more probable the higher the motor is, not lower. Pontoon boats seem to be more susceptible to ventilation especially when turning. When I re-powered my toon, it would blow out with very little up trim and on turns. Luckily, I had one more lower bolt holes left so lowering the...

    Pitch perfect

I have a 24', twin tube (25") , '06 pontoon. It came with an '05 Merc 60hp Big Foot, factory setup. I'd get almost 21 mph on a early spring cool day, cold water, by myself. It would blow out in sharp turns so trimming the motor down would stop it , then trim back up for going straight. I put a 4...

I want to add a third toon of smaller diameter

I'm no engineer. I do have a 24' pontoon with 25" toons. I'd never take the time and spend the money to add a 3rd toon with a smaller diameter, whether I'm interested in more performance or not, as in your case. You're adding weight without getting maximum return for buoyancy. I could see an...

Is this going to be a problem?

thought the same. It'll cause ventilation issues. Plus, my 2021 Merc. 115 hp, CT has a black ring that snaps into the housing. I wonder if that is supposed to have one also.

    Automotive Diagnostic Tool

if you want to isolate a noise, get an automotive stethoscope.... It doesn't have to show a check engine light to have a code stored as an intermittent or temporary issue. I use an xtool d7 which is a bi-directional scanner. It runs around $400 +/-, I got a prime deal so it was half. I've got 4...

    Gun ownership and permits.

two good answers...... which is why I tried to introduce a device such as that Byrna, for reasonable discussion......It is not considered a lethal weapon. Therefore, you're not using lethal force if used... No, I don't own one.....yet.....

    Gun ownership and permits.

no, I don't need to take a self defense course. I know what the answer is, as I've attended "use of deadly force" seminars, and driving over crowds of people, obviously maiming/killing them , and, who are not threatening severe bodily injury, death, or kidnapping, just because they are...
