Alpha 2 not coming out of gear after new interrupt switch.

Surely simply removing the shift plate from the elbow and installing a new switch and re-attaching wouldn't cause one to have to go through the entire set up procedure again. Maybe I'll put my old switch back on and see what happens.

Alpha 2 not coming out of gear after new interrupt switch.

All I did was remove old switch and put a new in. I didn't try manually depressing it but it seemed to be killing the engine.

Alpha 2 not coming out of gear after new interrupt switch.

2002 Alpha gen 2, 5.0 MPI serial 0M345638. In the spirit of preventive maintenance I replaced my 20 year old 1500 hour shift interrupt switch. I removed the shift plate to reach the small nuts on the back of the switch and put everything back together. Now it won’t come out of forward for...

Keeping boat interior (carpeting / fabric) "nice"

This is my 20th season with my boat. It still has the original non-removable carpet. I keep and can of spray foam carpet cleaner, scrub brush and rag on board and spot clean as needed. No better place to clean than when you're out on the water (fresh water that is). It still looks decent...

    A1g2 reseal question

I had that seal and yoke replaced at 1250 hours. Now at 1506 still cranking with no oil in bellows.

    UFP Trailer Buddy retaining ring

Finally got back to the boat. I had surgery then covid so behind on off season projects. I did as dingbat suggested, removed the snap ring and replaced the zerk. Getting it back in was a bit of a PITA. The trick I used was a hack saw blade. Worked great to pry the ring into place because...

Bow Trolley on Trailer instead of Winch, stock

So the trolley has to run on non-carpeted rails. So when the boat is out of the water is it resting on the metal rails? Hard tell the geometry from the pics. You said it was a trihull.

Bow Trolley on Trailer instead of Winch, stock

I've been around boat ramps for 50 years. I have never seen that.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

Nice boat QBhoy. I does look like a fast hull given it's size. I intend to make the jump to outboard in the future. But I apologize. I'm off topic. Back to Alldodge.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

What about Stingray's new flagship? I know it's touch smaller than you're looking though.

Maybe my turn for new boat time

If I had your money, and considering you want a hardtop, why not think outside the normal "Lake Cumberland" box? For example Cutwater, Jeanneau, Aspen Catamaran.

    Vapor lock

My 5.0 MPI did this. The fix was exactly what Chris describes above. I think this valve stops hot engine water from flowing back into the fuel cooler.

    UFP Trailer Buddy retaining ring

I don't understand the press. I've not taken the hub off the trailer. How would I apply a press to a hub still installed on the trailer? Thanks for the dimpling explanation. I'll give that a try if I have to remove the protector. The boat is stored 70 miles away at the lake so I haven't...

    UFP Trailer Buddy retaining ring

dingbat, can you explain "going to press" and "stake". I know they have to be knocked in. I usually use a block of wood and large hammer. Does stake mean what I've read about dimpling the outside of the BB?

    UFP Trailer Buddy retaining ring

Check valve is leaking. I've tried depressing it many times to try to reseat it but no luck. I hate to bang out another protector. Doubt I'll be able to keep another one on. I guess I could move up in size to the 2.047.

    UFP Trailer Buddy retaining ring

Has anyone ever removed the retaining ring from a UFP Trailer Buddy bearing protector to replace the zerk? When I try to remove the zerk the piston spins. I don't like the idea of simply replacing the entire protector because every time you remove one it slops out the bore of the hub.
