    1968 Crestliner Buccaneer w OMC Inboard 80hp

So looks like that engine is from a Ford Cortina. Rockauto lists a pump for $27. Not sure it’ll work but it might do. It’s not a marine pump so it won’t last long if it does work

    1968 Crestliner Buccaneer w OMC Inboard 80hp

Sadly. OMC used some very obscure engines in the early years. Mercruiser used a Renault engine that was around 90hp. Perhaps that one might be as well….. but your chances are somewhere between slim and none. Not meaning to be hurtful or anything just the way it is… see if you can identify...

1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

If you have a blown head gasket, compression ends up in the water jackets. Compression creates bubbles which creates hot spots. That may be your problem

Anyone know of a Honda Grass trimmer dealer with good prices?

I’m not sure Honda is still selling them. I know they pulled the plug on walk behind mowers

    Whale tail Question

Purpose of the whale tail is to provide lift at the stern. 50hp on a pontoon, makes it wishful thinking

1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

About $300 to have it done. Less than $50 if you can do it yourself… They should be jetted close but the throttle linkage may be different

1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

Chance you may be able to use it. But it’s not the same. It fits the manifold

Gimbal did have a little water in it so I guess no surprise.

Gimbal bearing came out with the drive shaft

I’d have chopped the transom off at that point lol

Gimbal bearing came out with the drive shaft

Pulled the motor from my 2nd parts boat to swap in the SC since it’s better… the outdrive didn’t come out so easy and when it did come out, the gimbal bearing is galled and seized on the driveshaft… anyone ever see that before? I know that I didn’t put enough pressure to actually pull the gimbal...

    Affordable fuel injection intriguing

The self learn is basically fuel trim that goes beyond so it will create a tune eventually. What turned me off from it was Holley basically telling me sorry, a distributor isn’t provided for my engine and that is it. I actually determined that a Delco EST will work with modifications based on...

    5.0 oil weight and amount

Sadly, possibly not anymore. I have not bought a Wix in a year or so but, word is going around that Napa is no longer sourcing filters from Wix. If the box isn’t marked Wix or Affinia than it’s not a Wix

    Boat

I think it’s an MFG…. But more importantly it’s dangerous with a rotten transom

1989 Mercruiser 2.5L 120HP motor overheating trouble shooting

You either have a blown head gasket, or in need of a valve job or adjustment at least.

1993 OMC 5.8 EFI and drive system conversion to Volvo Penta

Seloc manuals generally hold up the broken leg of a coffee table. They have accurate specifications but repair procedures are often incorrect. Critical points like shift adjustment is totally wack, for sure on Mercruiser. I’m sure OMC/ Volvo is similar
