    1999 Force/Merc 75HP 3 Cylinder 2-Stoke Rough Running Issues

You mention you have great spark jumping 1/2 in that is good. But when you try to start it and it would not start how does the spark plugs look like? Are they wet or dry? As this engine has a primer solenoid instead of choke butterflies does the primer work as it should? The primer has a...

99 Force 120 Stalls at Idle

You also have to check the sync between timing and carbs (link and sync, throttle pick up point). There is a sticker in the top of this forum how to check and adjust this. It is from the past Frank A, there is also a youtube video by FrankA about to do the "link and sync".

99 Force 120 Stalls at Idle

The idle should be set 1200 rpm in drive way on muffs, 7-800 rpm in water. Starting point set the air/fuel mixture screws at 1 1/4 turn out from seated, then fine tune them after the engine is warmed up. Never set them less than 1 turn out from seated. If the air/fuel mixture is set to lean or...

    Evinrude 25hp

Theoretically a good new 12V battery has 13,8V voltage as it contains six cells and each cell has 2,3V voltage. You can read 12,3 or something and up without load at a bad battery. Remember a starter is a dead short for the battery to serve when trying to start. Maybe a bad battery can be used...

    Sourcing parts '89 125 HP

I have read some where at this forum about the blocking diod a couple of times but I do not know when. Have not have any issue myself regarding it but the diods purpose is to block and secure that the CDI boxes not interfering to each other. The CDI boxes produces the output voltage they should...

    Leg Length 1989 Force 85HP

Transom height 15 in short leg, 20 in long leg and 25 in X-long leg. Your Bayliner Capri is for a long leg or X-long leg.

    Sourcing parts '89 125 HP

Okey, are the CDI boxes new? I think the CDI boxes has a blocking diod inside and the purpose for it is to block the other CDI box from interference. You can switch the CDI boxes and see if the issue moves to cylinder 3 and 4.

    Sourcing parts '89 125 HP

The Force power does it fire twice when hooking up a second battery to the charging system and is it charging lower amps or does it affect the spark at all cylinders? If I do not remember wrong the stator has two or three windings. Two (or one) for charging the capacitors in the CDI boxes and...

Lower unit shift rod wont screw back in

Look up at Crowley Marine the schematics for your 35R76G. The schematics you have posted is not the same! The one you posted is for a later model. The first two pics are not showing anything but bluuuur.

    Gear lube

I use automotive gear oil EP 80-90W in all cases with no red metal in. Cases that has bronze parts such as bushings etc I use marine gear oil 80-90W. EP gear oils affect the bronze parts and "eat" it up. The most important thing is check the gear case and gear oil for water intrusion and if...

    (Chrysler 25 HP 1975) Outboard Motor 257HA

Non oil coil is to prefer but if you can not get one use one with oil. All 12V ignition coils built to use in battery system will work. Prime side winding 0.5-3.5 Ohms, secondary side about 9-11 kOhms.

what is it with spark plug $$$$

The only good with these surface gap plugs are you do not need to change them very often. They last for a very long time. Just pull them clean them up and put them back. Doen not matter of brand, NGK, Champion, Bosch or other. This is my experience of them.

    1997 90 hp rebuild project

I do not think milling the head will increase power, maybe raise the compression. Check that the pistons not touching the spark plugs if you will mill the head. If not milling the head and it is my suggestion, check the head from warping (it used to be a little warped anyway) and grind it flat...

Black oil in pick up tube and water pump.

Okey, then it looks like it is tuned pretty right. Do not set the air/fuel mixture screw less than 1 turn out from seated. As these engines has cross flow scavering system and in some moment the intake ports and exhausts ports are open at the same time, some fresh air/fuel mixture will go right...

Black oil in pick up tube and water pump.

Nothing to worry about, it is unburned fuel. Maybe you carb setting is a little to rich but that is better then to lean. When idling the two stroker do not burn a lot of the fuel. If you have a leakage in the lower crank seal you should have bad idling and maybe you should see water intrusion in...

Black oil in pick up tube and water pump.

This is normal, a two stroker do not combust all fuel. The unburned fuel goes out with the exhaust down the leg and out the exhaust nose under the cavitation plate.

Milky fuel in carb intake force 85hp

Yes you can make a compression test without have the power head on the leg. Jump starter direct from the battery or you connect the starter solenoid to the starter and jump the control voltage from the battery to the starter solenoid. I would suggest you to mount the intake manifold on the...

Milky fuel in carb intake force 85hp

The part number for the rings is right for std rings. The last digit 1 after the "A" says it is std. The part number for the std piston must be a Chrysler/Force number. Std piston from Quicksilver should be 834794T3 (whole assembly). When you put the rings in the bore will they go down...
