What can I darken my deck with and add non skid?

SeaDek it. It'll cost ya but you can make your own pattern and get it made to your liking. Soft on the feet too. There are others out there, I just happen to have purchased SeaDek for my swimpad.

Will dealers still deal on new boats?

BUT....there has to be inventory to begin with. At my marina, there really isn't unless you want a 25'+ boat. The smaller (more economical) 19' class are non-existent in any of the makes they carry. So the caveat to that would be....location, location, and stock.

    E15 and no REC gas

The issue with E15 is the amount of ethanol content in the gas. Star Tron, from what I'm reading, is like Stabil so it's not going to do what you need it to do - reduce the ethanol content. Rec gas on the hard or on the water look to be your options. For more reading...

    Batteries status after winter storage

I'll plug in my charger when I open the boat (once the batteries are connected that is). I'm probably due for a deep cycle as I replaced the starting battery last year. **(2) batts onboard.

1987 Power Play XLT-185 - floors, stringers, and upholstery

Pull it on to the trailer as far as I can with one of the dock lines. Connect the strap and winch it the rest of the way. Maybe 5 minutes start to finish. Yes my feet get wet, I wear Tvas to avoid slipping on the ramp and doing my impersonation of a sitzspin. Only power loaded 1x in my boat...

    Making extra step for ladder

I think if you toss some weights into the bottom of your wooden plank to get it to stay sunk you'd be ok. How much weight that's going to be though is anyone's guess.

How do I identify my new-to-me-boat?

Looks similar to this one... https://forums.iboats.com/threads/1972-starcraft-arrow-closed-bow-conversion.755470/ You might check through Fiberglassics.com to see if they have something in their brochures. In my state though, with no paperwork, you're in for a major headache getting it into...

High Prices of used boats and the future? Bubble or not?

Supply chain is doing crazy, crazy stuff with all sorts of things - gas, trucks/cars, boats, travel trailers, you name it. Project boats going for 500-1000 are now going 2-3x that price if you're lucky. New...you're ordering for NEXT summer in most cases that I've seen....and you may be looking...

    1986 Advantage Magnum 190

Many, many boat manufacturers have come and gone over the years. Some lasted only a year or two. But yes....parts are generic, not specific to your boat. Windshield - probably Taylor (Taylor Made). Cleats may have been by Perko. Steering might have been Teleflex. If you have a bilge pump...

    1986 Advantage Magnum 190

What parts are you looking for? Engine/drive are specific to OMC. Everything else was bought off the shelf from 3rd party and installed on the boat -cleats, railings, gauges, etc. Look no further than iboats as you get a discount when you order.

Lake boat sizes: Is there a trailerable sweet spot?

If its pucker time, I doubt a cigarette style boat would fair any better.

    Chaparral experts in here ?

Something tells me you're cutting the floor open. You can get a general idea where the opening needs to be by using a tape measure and the opening you have to see the tank. Other option I can think of is that they do sell, very cheaply I might add, inspection cameras that hook up to cell...

Lake boat sizes: Is there a trailerable sweet spot?

Really depends on what lake you're referring to. My boat in my signature really is too large for one of the lakes I frequent - a 16' would be sufficient. On another lake I vacation on its about the right size. Great Lakes....only on a calm day. For watersports, my cousin's family uses his 21'...

2021 Ram Oil and fuel filters

Again, IF you can remove the filter in the first place. Air guns and a cross member make it interesting on the new body style Rams like my 2021. Watch a few Youtube videos on the new body style to see what I'm referring to as it became a problem with the redesign...not on your older '11.

2021 Ram Oil and fuel filters

I have heard that the Hemi oil filters are put on with air guns and are likewise situated near the engine cross member making them *interesting* to remove on the Ram. Plenty of Youtube videos filled with colorful metaphors on first oil changes on those. Luckily my dealership offers 1st oil...

Abandoned boat hull stringer help. 1984 sunbird 16

6yrs sitting in NY?? Safe bet that unless someone gave a hoot about the boat and checked the cover religiously that it saw rain/snow (alot) over that time. A few freeze / thaw cycles probably did the rest of the work. I'd say its safe bet you're into a full gut & rebuild. Hope you have the...

What best FUNCTIONAL hood pin kits for 2006 Mustang GT?

I'd check either Jegs or Summit Racing. https://www.jegs.com/i/Drake-Muscle-Cars/205/S1MS16892-SK/10002/-1?year=2006&make=FORD&model=MUSTANG https://www.summitracing.com/search/part-type/hood-pins/year/2006/make/ford/model/mustang?SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending

1972 Starcraft Arrow closed bow conversion

What Scott's alluding to is that boats rot in the following manner.... Stringers & Transom....then floor. So the floor is the last thing to go, not the first. Best bet is to drill some test holes in the lowest part of the transom from the inside of the boat. Unless someone was there before...

1972 Starcraft Arrow closed bow conversion

I'd just fish as is. I only see (1) swivel chair in the photo so its not like you're contending with a bench seat taking up floor space. You pretty much have a casting deck as is. Especially with no windshield. Been there, done that.
