    Old starcraft boat model identificatio

What does your registration say is the better question? This is based off your comment that the Starcraft ID seems to be missing and there's a different ID plate attached. Your ownership paperwork should show the original manufacturing year UNLESS its been issued a new HIN by the registering...

    Can't see my boat

Tilt your side mirrors out and a bit down if need be to see your trailer tires. Been there, done that with almost every one of my vehicles and boats I've owned. If you can't see around the end of the trailer, try adding towing mirrors to your side mirrors. Only exception is the Ram in my...

    Minimum MPH Boat/Motor?

Just add a trolling plate to your motor and be done with it. Drop it when you want to troll, pop it up when you wanna get back to camp quickly. Easy, peasy. That way you're not lugging around another motor or worrying how you're mounting it to your transom...

    Any 2017+ Nissan Titan owners?

So just closing the loop on this..... Nissan was thrown out as basically they have SV's on the lot but won't deal on them with leases....or at least in my area....with any reasonable amount of $$$$ down. Dealer wouldn't order me one either to lock in a decent lease deal. I located (1) Titan XD...

Help with Battery issues after stereo install

Head Unit out on the bench and its blowing fuses? It's shorted internally or in the wiring somewhere. Is there a pigtail coming out of the head unit with a bunch of wires for output, input, power, etc? If so, I'd check that carefully to see if the wires melted there. If that's good, you...

Fair price for 2010 Regal 2300 from old man?

From your dad? Work it out....tis family...well maybe that'll work... Pricing is completely out of whack right now with people doing some really silly stuff. But that also means on new you're probably waiting until Spring 2022 if you order now whereas you could be using the Regal now...possibly...

Adding ski pole or tower etc.

My '99 Bayliner came with a ski pole and I'm fairly confident there was a warning right on it not to pull a tube on it. I used a bridle instead and hooked to the transom eyes. Current boat I use a bridle for tube duty.

    Electric Boats

3-5 hours of use? Are they serious?? Then what? Plug it in at your local marina? Ohh wait....bet they need a special charging station like the electric cars which aren't around yet in any kind of numbers...

pricing my inherited Lund boat - advise please

Pricing for? Insurance purposes? Selling it? Trading it in? Important point: The paperwork has to be in your name to legally transfer ownership. Whether that's a transferable registration or a separate title is dependent on your registering authority - DMV/BMV/DeptfWildlife/etc **There isn't a...

    Accessories not working

I'd take both batteries to be load tested. My gut is telling me that you have just enough juice to operate a few low draw accessories but not enough to turn the boat over or other higher draw accessories. An onboard head unit (radio) with memory will draw a battery down over the length of time...

Where can i find a curved window

Taylor(Taylor Made) more than likely manufactured the original window. They're still in business....you can call them. Just be prepared for the cost as it ain't gonna be cheap...$$$$ You might stumble across a total wreck of a boat on Craigslist that you could scavange the windshield from and...

    Tippy aluminum houseboat

You're trying to defy physics. By placing the tank up so high, the center of gravity was put way, way out of whack. You really do need to move the tank down.

    Suggestions for a Phone Mount?

https://www.iboats.com/shop/ram-mounts-surface-mount-cell-phone-holder.html I've had a depth finder mounted to the window upright....knocked it every time I went through the walkthrough and I was a skinny lad at that time. I wouldn't mount a phone there....personal preference.

    10 mph top speed

Did some googling so that might be dangerous..... Prop - pretty much a given that dropping 1" pitch will increase your RPM by about 150-200RPM. Motor - generally found your recommended rpm range to be in the 4400 neighborhood. Basic math.....to get from your current 2000 rpm to around...

    3.7 mercrusier 165 horse engine

True inboard - prop mounted on a shaft under the keel of the boat. Will have a rudder for steering completely separate from the prop. Motor is generally mounted towards the center (front to back) of the boat. Sterndrive - prop is mounted on a "leg" which also provides steering for your boat...

Remote Control for Alpha 1 Gen 2

If you think your shifter is too stiff, have it serviced. You'd be amazed what that will do for you. Sitting in a showroom with the boat out of the water, engine turned off, isn't going to tell you anything just moving the controls around.

Remote Control for Alpha 1 Gen 2

I think, and could be wrong here, that someone saw the joystick docking available on the larger Volvo powered boats - not sure if Merc offers this or not. Generally seen that as optional on the larger, $$$$$($) boats. I'd have to agree...a bit of practice and finesse with your current controls...

    Is it worth fixing up?

I'd say go for it as its a neat looking boat. Going off the sillycone on the motor, I'd say you're in for at least a transom. The good news is the resto forum has a ton of info in it and a number of helpful peeps just waiting to answer your questions, cheer you on when you have that "oh carp, I...

    Boat keeps porpoising.

"My expectation was that I should be able to run with just people in it; some in the bow, some in the cockpit, about half trim and have it bounce over waves but stabilize after that." Umm it doesn't work that way. The boat tells you where your trim needs to be. I set my trim to 1/2 on any of my...
