    My new trucklet!

Truck version of the Palisade with a different grill huh? I'll say this... its definitely unique and won't be confused with anything else on the road.

    Wood cost

For me, in my neck of the woods, lumber costs remained relatively consistent....maybe a$1 more per 2x4. I know...I was building a Lionel layout in my basement with the stimulus checks :) Other items though are silly $$$ and stock is still down on a number of items it seems. Some retail chains...

    Opinions on winter storage?

As mentioned in another thread.... heated storage is only one freak storm from not being heated. Witness Texas freeze this past year. As for your plan for the boat itself....does it snow alot where you live? If so, I doubt the tight fitting cover and tarp are going to cut it. You need a support...

    Dry Launch

I had Wesbar on my FourWinns trailer. Only had to replace them once and that was due to my tire kicking something up which knocked off the red lens - light continued to function without issue. Not sure what Eagle used on my Chap trailer but they're LED and I honestly wouldn't go back to...

    1st boat incoming. Dumb question

If you're worried about it, install an onboard battery charger and just plug it in. I have one on my fish & ski...boat is currently plugged in to charge both batteries. I love the convenience.

    Engine Re-power

When I upgraded my 120HP Force 2-stroke on the Bayliner to a 115HP Honda 4-Stroke I honestly didn't notice any difference in hole shot. Yeah, yeah I heard all about the 4 strokes don't have the hole shot that 2 strokes do but in actual practice, on my boat, there wasn't a difference. What I did...

    Hidea the new Yamaha/Honda

Before this post I hadn't heard of the company. I went looking to see what they were - from appearances, the cowling is from a Evinrude/Johnson and we all know that they're out of business. Towing someone in with a certain make/model of motor is irrelevant. Mistakes happen. People run out of...

Bought this boat from Auction need help!

Generally speaking, spring time is better to sell. People have been cooped up in a house all winter long and are looking for some warm weather activities. Couple that with a possible tax return and they have income burning a hole in their pocket. The one knock on the boat, for me anyways, is...

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

Well....since you're redoing it already, what about this option.... Pull everything from the dash, including the vinyl. Plug the holes with wood - if needed, make the holes round and plug with dowel. Seal appropriately. Re-vinyl the dash or refinish in something else - given the age of the...

Lovely boat at the slip. Any ideas ?

Old 60's / 70's jet boat that's been converted to more modern drive. Pop the engine cover off and imagine a built 350/400/455 with chrome headers popped up in the air attached to a jet drive. Just a shot in the dark without any manufacturer markings on it. What's the placard on the transom...

    Dash hole cover up bezel?

IF it were me, I'd be looking at Plexi/Lexan as a base. Might find something cheap in a cutoff bin at a plastic shop that would work size wise. I've seen it in many colors - OR just cover it in wood grained vinyl. Might find something cheap in a cutoff bin at a plastic shop that would work size...

    Winter storage question

I did it twice....once with my Bayliner and once with my Chap. Here's my experience (I live in NY so it snows)... Bayliner....tarp collapsed in middle of heavy snow. In spring time I was picking snow and ice chunks out of the boat. Luckily I had no damage. Chap...I reused the shrink wrap and...

    New Lund Owner

It all depends....don't ya just hate those answers? IF you are going to be tubing/wakeboarding/etc then you probably want to keep the swim platform. At least, it would be a non-starter in my family as beyond that, my wife sits on the sunpad with her feet on the swim platform when fishing from...

    89’ OMC 4.3L Winterize Question

Think of it this way.....air don't freeze... I live in NY where temps can get into the - range fairly easily. Have the marina winterize it every year and it doesn't involve adding any AF to the engine.

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

Was thinking a bilge pump float switch mounted to a frame rail actually. Already waterproof and rated for submersion. Probably a quick disconnect in there so they don't go on/off as I go down the road.

    1972 Checkmate MX-15 Rebuild

I'm guessing you're taking a whack at the piston from the back (rod) side? What about laying a piece of wood across the piston and give it a couple gentle knocks from the top side to push it a bit back into the bore? Might get it to move a bit to see what you're dealing with in the bore. Just...

1986 Brougham Bridger Yukon Delta Fishing boat renovation

Having retrieved my boat at dusk a few times now, I have to say some underglow lighting on the trailer would be very handy. Wiring might be interesting as I doubt that should be live when running on the streets.

    Can't see my boat

OP....you're looking at a better mid-sized SUV - Durango and Pathfinder are two that when configured properly will tow over 6k OR a mid-sized pickup - Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon. None of these will get you over the "rear view mirror blocked by boat" syndrome. None of these will let you see...
