Need gas cap for 1994 Larson SEI 174

If you read through the story, Polaris stopped production on Larson, Rinker, and Striper boat labels in April 2020. The website is for support only. They're refocusing on Bennington, Godfrey, and Hurricane instead. Here's the full notice...

    VIN Info on Trail-Rite Trailer

Time to check with your registering authority to see how to proceed. They *might* be able to help you out by reverse lookup based on previous owner. They *might* have a trooper inspect the trailer to make sure its not stolen and issue a new vin. Best advice when dealing with them....be polite...

Questions about redoing floor on '76 'Twain 162

The foam provides floatation should your boat get swamped. If it were my rebuild, I'd be adding it back.

Questions about redoing floor on '76 'Twain 162

If the floor's gone, I'd be checking the stringers and transom as more than likely they are on their way to becoming mulch if they aren't already. And if the transom needs replacement, I honestly don't see how you'd accomplish it without de-capping the boat due to the splashwell design. I think...

    Second Happiest Day . . .

You're talking a much bigger boat. Slip fees go up exponentially with length of boat. Then gas to feed it. Pump out if its got a head and given the size it more than likely does. Probably a twin setup so if its winterized, double the cost. If winterized, storage fees and possibly shrink wrap...

    Lonestar Aluminum Hull Restoration

Umm....unless someone paid some decent $$$ to a welder to plug the mounting holes, I highly doubt that had twin 40's on it. There's no evidence of it hole wise. And there's no tell tale of it having clamp on 40's either - you'd see impressions in the aluminum from where the motor clamped in...

    Lonestar Aluminum Hull Restoration

I'll take a swing at #4....bad idea for a few reasons.... You're exceeding the design spec of the boat by overpowering it HP wise. That may have unintended consequences with handling. It may/will have consequences insuring it (if needed) and/or during a safety inspection. Also, that hull was...

Boat going in reverse instead of forward

It's a Force by Mercury Marine. My '99 had that naming convention on it. Was the cheapest 2 stroke Merc built.

    Long distance commuters

Longest daily commute I've done is 45 minutes. My wife can walk to work - her round trip is 0.8 miles. Longest commute I ever did was 6 hours to travel 30 miles. Was in '99/00/01 (forget which year) during a freak snow storm in my '95 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4. Took 3 hours to go a few city...

59 Glasspar Seafair sedan possible transom rebuild?

I'd double check that weight difference. When I went from 2 stroke to 4 stroke it was about 200lbs difference. That's a full grown adult sitting on the transom....enough to sink the boat further into the water about 1-2". That extra depth may be the difference between whether you can run a 4...

Mounting bunks on angled cross member

https://www.iboats.com/shop/bolster-brackets-tiedown-engineering-legacy-imf-1020323.html Look at option 81210 which has a swivel head to compensate for the tilt of your rear cross member. Go bigger if needed. Easy, peasy.

Ah...Evinrude Big Twin. Bringing back some memories. I sure don't miss jumping into the lake to change a sheer pin.

Youth TRC super soft life jacket

Unsure. I ran into the same situation with my bean pole of a son last year. We came up with a secure, home made version of a add-on strap. Luckily he grew into the jacket this year so no strap required.

    92 188 Spyder ?

Stingray's are typically the lightest fiberglass boats out there and are known for doing more with less HP. So I wouldn't use that as a baseline as a 23P prop seems mighty tall for a 4.3. You should be able to find an 18P prop - work with a good prop shop to try different combos and exchange...

    Tilt Trailer -- How Effective?

Many, many moons ago we had a late 80's vintage tilt trailer under the MFG in my signature. We launched in cottage country in Northern Ontario on what could loosely be called a boat ramp....in reality, it was a sand path to the lake. Tilt trailer didn't help one bit on those launches because the...

Amazon has listings for add-on straps for life jackets. This only works if the chest straps are exposed at the back of the life jacket....there are some brands that are, some that aren't.

    1970 AristoCraft Restoration

There isn't one for your 51 yr old boat. In fact, I'd wager it has been "victimized" by one or more backyard "mechanics" who took turns with "hold my beer, I go this" as it was rewired in an attempt to "fix" a various problem. Your best bet is to start tracing wires and see where they lead to...
