Nothing comes off the driveshaft, either end. I figured one end would come loose, NOPE!! The prop's supposed to just pull off, no amount of trying to drive it off with a brass drift and 3# hammer, even a steel drift wouldn't help. Gonna get the hot wrench in there the first of the week. Over...

1988 Force 88 hp, help on wiring cdi

DON'T get crazy!! It really isn't that bad. Is the diagram still on the side of the exhaust chest? Before I'd do ANYTHING!! I'd do a compression test.

Not only is it seized !!! But the driveshaft is seized on BOTH ends, the prop and engine coupler. :( I've got it dismantled enough that I can get the hot wrench in to the engine coupler. Hate to think I might have to cut the shaft. :(

1989 85 HP Force neutral safety switch help!

You put it back together, then find N ,while shifting, rotate the prop, that relieves the pressure and makes shifting easier. Once in N then check the switch for location, then adjust as needed.

The prop is SIEZED on the shaft. I have cramps in my fingers from trying to pull it free. I got the intake grate off and finally have access to the driveshaft under the ski, nothing blocking. Rain yesterday stopped all work, today I'll get under and try to turn the driveshaft and try to get the...

Got the outer housing off, then tried to get the impeller housing loose, it only comes about 3/4 of an inch then pulls itself back in. Looked in the service manual= nothing on that. Saw a couple of u-tube videos and they gave me some ideas, for tomorrow.

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Thanks Scott, had the first one and added the rest to my favorites. QBhoy: Not hydro locked. I got it with the plugs out and won't turn over. The starter kicks in but does nothing but groan. The solenoid went bad as I tried to start it, got hot and melted a post. Is there a way to access the...

Is there a Seadoo repair forum other than this, or just ask here? 2004 seadoo gtx 4 stroke supercharged bombardier(heck of a name) Have a pair of them, they sat for 4-5 years and one doesn't want to turn over. New batteries, one just clicks and the starter engages but only groans and when the...

Is this normal wear on a distributor belt?

Had a flywheel on an 88/85 that wouldn't come off. The rest were easy, peasy.

So i decided to pull the powerhead off....

The older pistons need a special tool to reassemble them. Post pics of the pistons,

So i decided to pull the powerhead off....

Like racerone said use "bearing assembly grease" on the loose bearings and make REAL sure they stay in place. One falls out and the rebuild is done. Can do serious damage to a cylinder if it falls into it. Has the motor been rebuilt before? check the pistons for marks on top of the piston...

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

No, the only thing spinning is the prop shaft. Thus the wear on the seal. The driveshaft only turns when the motor's running.

Will this prop bearing carrier break apart if removed?

Nowhere is it written down that it needs to be in gear, but it's just a good practice that will save a seal from excessive wear. Short trips ? long trips that I did when I trailered over 120 mi. to get to the ocean. I've been doing that since 1988 when I realized the props were spinning on my...
