The graphite gaskets are put on with no sealer on them. period.. Sealer is used on the metal and paper gaskets and on bolt threads.... Does you excerpt state it is a graphite, metal or paper gasket? No. The sealer non-use on graphite gaskets was stated earlier, but you can do as you wish.

How to install a temp gauge on an engine outside of boat?

The temp sender is usually on the thermostat housing. Normally 2 senders there. The one with the red body is the alarm switch. The smaller one is the gauge sender. Any electric temp gauge will work. start with a cheap one....

rpm signal wire and est ignition

For the gauges, Grey is the tach (signal), black is batt neg B- and purple is power/ignition batt positive B+. Grey wire comes off the coil neg (or on the more sophisticated ignitions, the tach terminal) for the tach signal. Are you sure that is the way the back of the tach is connected? Did...

Assembling exhaust manifolds, risers and elbows - Loctite 510?

The graphite gaskets go on dry..... No sealant on them. Believe they are talking about the bolt holes (bolt threads), not exhaust / water holes, unless you are using the cheapo paper gaskets. If paper gaskets, then slather away.

Water coming in through bilge pump

Could be a problem if debris was in the line and it got plugged up.. Some pumps have them built in. I know the one I installed in a small boat did. don't recall the name.

gimbal bearing house hit by trailer while emergent braking before red light.

I think I know what you are implying (have changed a few in my years), but look closely and you can see a mismatch on it. Never seen an intact gimbal ring look like that. Or there is something there that shouldn't be there.

    Slow trim response

Plus the volume of oil needed to go up is less than down, due to the cyl rod being in only 1 end of the cyl. If you over fill the tank while drive is down, it will over flow at full up.

    Cracked Mercruiser 165 block

Pretty decent looking deck boat for $200. Could be a great fishing boat. If transom / hull isn't bad, I would grab it and just plunk another engine in it for that money.

gimbal bearing house hit by trailer while emergent braking before red light.

Yup, the gimbal ring is busted. That ring can be replaced, but I will bet a box of donuts there is other damage in there that isn't so obvious. You didn't say what year / make / model the boat is That gimbal assy looks like it needs to removed to be resealed, since someone just gobbed on...

1997 Mercruiser 5.7 EFI blown head gasket

Perhaps someone didn't verify the timing of the dizzy #1 wire tower with TDC on the crank when re-installing the dizzy. Then installed the plug wires and corrected it by twisting the dizzy till it fired it and timed it off that. The pictures of where the #1 is all fine and good till someone...
