Interesting on the power lead. The black wire from the vehicle (labeled as "trailer battery charge circuit") comes right off a relay in my F150 and powers the Hydrastar unit and the blue just supplies "signal voltage" from the P3 controller. Seems to work fine from all the run testing I have...
Sometimes the little white plastic disc under the solenoid that can get a spec of material in it and prevent that solenoid from working. They pop right out and are easy to inspect.
Understood. The older boats are not required to upgrade, but smaller open cockpit boats surely would benefit from one, for safety reasons.

Completed all the wiring and everything tested perfect 1st shot. Battery charges like it should (battery box assy has a status and charge indicator on it)
Now to bleed the 4 disc calipers.

That's a rare find to find one that old as new. But, still old style and parts are a question. Due to it's size and design, your boat should have a safety cut off switch / lanyard. The newer style has them built in. That one, does not.

Suggest you attend a US Coast Guard Auxiliary ( https://cgaux.org/ ) or Power Squadron safe boating class. It is cheap, in person and very informative.

Do the voltage checks at battery when running. Should be a min of 13.8V when on fast idle and under load. If it is good, then back to the connections checks.

But, fuel economy is a big point. Mine has the 3L Twin Turbo putting out 404 hp, and if I do my part, it gets 36 mpg highway. Has gone as high as 40 mpg in a 25 mile stretch of flat road (when switched to 4 cyl operation).

Heck, not just the suspension parts. My car's frame and body are all aluminum, too.
Have no concerns with strength or usability.
Biggest worry is cost of body repair, since guys that work on aluminum vehicles are far and few between.
I see your drive is an Alpha. Since raw water pump is in drive, can run for a very sort period with drive off.
If it was a Bravo, the pump would be on engine and a few seconds the pump will burn up the impeller with no water supplied.
