Got the wife a new RAV4 Prime

Kinda funny in a lot of forums...when someone talks about a new EV or an EV that they just bought, people like you come on and start saying the world is gong to end and the grid is going to fail. What does this have anything to do with Bob's Rav4 that he just bought? What's with people that...

    New Tires

Let me say this again "When I was in a place where I could only get load range E and I really only needed D..." I was on a trip...second of my 3 year old china tires had just blown. This was with a trailer that I had sitting on blocks to keep the weight off the tires too.

    New Tires

Exactly. When I was in a place where I could only get load range E and I really only needed D, I just inflated to get the same load rating of the D which was 65 PSI. There was zero need to run it at 80PSI. That's why they have the charts. Of course you will always be people that think they know...

Got the wife a new RAV4 Prime

You sure you don't mean Texas? They are the ones with the inadequate power grid. Actually, what you just said was completely false https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2021/06/25/california-didnt-require-electric-car-owners-stop-charging/5320286001/ Total power for air conditioning...

Personally, that would be too long for me of course the gas sits in my boat even longer in the off season.

Got the wife a new RAV4 Prime

That's a whole new industry that is getting started...recycling of the Lithium batteries. Not going to be the big bugaboo that certain people are making of it that are against EVs. As far as buying The Toyota over a one made by US owned company...if they made a car that had the specs of the...

    New Tires

Which is why you follow the manufacturer's load charts and don't just fill them up to Max PSI! I upgraded tires to a larger size on my last trailer. If I loaded them up to Max PSI, they would be extremely overinflated. You go by the PSI recommended on the tire label on the trailer if you have...

Just make sure you do run it on gas occasionally. It may force you to do that anyway automatically. For us, we will use it once a month for long trips so it will go through at least one full tank a month.

That's our next car. Like the fact we can use it locally with electric only and then use it on trips.

Respectfully, I think I will trust RVIA's "opinion/guideline" over you.

    New Tires

Actually not an opinion. In 2017 the RVIA started to specify a 10% margin for tires that come on travel trailers

    Another surge question

A master cylinder isn't going to rust on the inside unless water gets into it. Be diligent and flush the brake fluid every 3 years and you will never have an issue with corrosion. I flush the brake fluid on all my vehicles every 3 years as well. Most car manufacturers reccomend the same these...

    New Tires

Those are excellent. Buy 5 including your spare. I would use Endurance or Maxxis only. All the people that say you should use a truck or LT tire don't seem to understand that you can't get those in 14" tires. As far as pressure, you inflate to what the manufacturer tells you to to inflate...

    Another surge question

Actually...the original Dexter line is Titan Dico brands which is still way superior to the TieDown crap. Are you actually dunking your master cylinder in salt water. Not sure why having a steel master cylinder would even matter. I have electric over hydraulic myself on my Coblat and previous...

    Another surge question

Dexter bought out TieDown but there is a huge quality/design difference between them. The actuator on my pontoon trailer was TieDown and it was a piece of crap. Same applies to some TiedDown disc brakes that warped...I threw them in the trash. Dexter Titan brake actuators are superior as well...

    Another surge question

You can buy replacement master cylinders for that actuator. That will be the cheapest option. If that actuator hasn't been used for a while, the master cylinder is almost for sure bad.

    Another surge question

You are right...that bolt doesn't look like it belongs there. If you remove those circlips and pull those rods, the entire guts should slide out forward. By zooming in, I can see its a LP700 Tie Down actuator. Tie Down makes pretty poor quality parts so I would not be surprised if it wasn't...

5.7GI-300-J: left side cylinders not firing- ignition issue???

You sure its not in S.L.O.W mode? Thought that turned off half the injectors when it got into that mode. Rinda Diacom should certainly show if you are in that mode or not.
